Strong Versus: Air
The Flak Cannon is an effective air deterrent. It's long range gives it the ability to attack planes as they are coming in for an attack, even to the point where your opponent will have difficulty reacting to a Flak Cannon. These are also very valuable base defenses and expansion defenses if your ally is relying heavily on aerial units.
Placement of this defensive structure is also very important. Placing them against cliff walls is something you should absolutely avoid as they will not be able to target an incoming plane until after it is directly over the Flak Cannon. When placing these structures you want to take advantage of the range as best you can. Placing them in open and unobstructed places is best as they will have a clean shot at the plane as soon as it enters attack range.
