GameReplays.org is putting on a King of the Hill tournament, with a cash prize, to determine who is the best Red Alert 3 player of all!
***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** We are extending the tournament until September 24th, with the finals on September 27th.
JOIN THE TOURNAMENT BY POSTING IN THE SIGN-UP THREADTHE DETAILS:
The winner of the tournament will be the player who has lasted the longest (in days) as "King." Every day the current King will be required to play a selected challenger and post the replay in our
Replay System.
The starting King will be Apollo, C&C3 WCG Champion. Challenging players are to post in the "
Challenge Thread," with their online name (see below), where they will be randomly selected to play. The game must be played by 2:00 AM GMT each day, to allow the staff to post results. To allow people time to plan, players will be informed as soon as is possible what day they can expect to be playing (naturally the "King" will be expected to play every day or surrender). Players will be given one chance to compete in the tournament, and following their defeat will be barred from future participation.
The tournament will last for three weeks, with the last game on September 10th. The finals will take place the next Saturday (the 13th). The way the finals will work is thus: The two longest-lasting players will qualify, as well as the final "King," and play in a mini-tournament. The longest lasting player will have a bye for the first round, and the other two will play a best of three series. The winner of that series will play the longest-lasting King in the grand final for the prize of $100 cash!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Everyone is welcome and encouraged to sign up! Even if you aren't pro, you could get the chance to see how you stack up against some of the toughest competitors in the beta!
- Each replay of each day must be posted in our replay system! Failure to do so by the deadline will result in a loss for the current King AND the challenger (a new King would be selected). You do not need the unlocker to save/upload a replay. Go to C:\Users\\Documents\Red Alert 3 Beta\Replays and the game you just played is Last Replay.RA3Replay
- Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a disqualification
- Unless both players agree otherwise, the default map is "Temple Prime"
- In order to prevent people from playing more than once (other than as King), the only accounts that will be accepted as Challengers will be those with 25 or more posts.
- Challengers will be chosen randomly, with SLIGHT favor given to those who post before others in the thread. Please do not post in the thread more than once, or contact the tournament staff, if you haven't been chosen.
