QUOTE

GBH push almost entire game

Right, he pushed all game long.
And all those pushes were not worth it.
Really.

- He lost 5 Flaktroopers to kill an Oil Derrick without killing it.
- Using 3 Flaktrooper to kill a Reff while the Opponent has Vindies is pure gamble
- Threw his entire army to kill the MCV and a few PKs with IFV

QUOTE

had more money

No. Hardly ever.
He had 5 Refineries and 1 was constantly without a collector.
Economically they were pretty even.

QUOTE

t3

Ya, have you seen it used properly?
Me neither.
The Dreadnough was good, I give you that. But those 8+ *wasted* V4? No. In no universe.

QUOTE

iron curtain

...and used it horribly.
When the Iron Curtain was ready and all Tony had were 8 Cryos you have only one chance and cast the Iron Curtain on your Migs!
4 invincible Migs eat the Cryos like nothing.

QUOTE

despite it all he lost

He deserved to lose in this game. It wasn't a good GBH game. It was something. Different units are nice and all but if you lose them like nothing it's not entertaining.

The biggest issue was the missing Hammer army.
There were never 8+ Hammers on the field. Only Flaks and Conscript which are bad against Heroic PKs.

On the other side we had Tony who played a fantastic skirmish with only a few units and a solid BO. But GBH didn't play on his usual level. post-13661-1143531603.gif

Tons of mistakes made by both sides given that me and GBH have all been afk for quite a while but it was overall an all-action game.

I almost never do fast AF except for this one so I was a little confused what to do at the start. But later I just played my own defensive mass-cryo style and tried to make this game as entertaining to watch as possible for my stream viewer. Yes I was streaming. smile.gif

Looking forward to playing against GBH when we're both in shapes! smile.gif

Thanks for your opninion. U are right in many things. Allies have Vindies always against soviets. So how u want destroy rafinery ? If they can split bombs ? Take overal look in SvA games. Allies almost always dominate. Sov can sit on 4 or 5 refs against alies player with 3 refs. Drednaught was not a good idea IMO because cryos can shink it, freeze and kill with vindies.

It's not needed to destroy a Refinery to kill an Allied player.
Surely, a Flakdrop can pay off and in most cases will pay off.
But if you build your BO around that single Flak drop, the pay off isn't worth.

I've lost to many Soviets before and a reff loss probably wasn't the cause of this.

Take overal look in SvA games. Allies almost always dominate.

That's rather easy (and for most people cheap) to explain.
There have been *a lot* pretty solid Allied players. Like really top notch level.
Many medicore and casuals learn from their BOs and styles. Basically, they can learn with more samples.

Soviets on the other hand...
How many top notch Soviet players can you recall?
Who was a true destroyer?
Not many, right? So there are less samples. It's difficult to learn how you beat Allies if no one can beat Allies.

QUOTE

Sov can sit on 4 or 5 refs against alies player with 3 refs.

That has something to do with effeciency and BO.
In this aprticular game we had a pretty even economy.
I've had other games with the Soviet going berserk and take 5 Reffs pretty early. And they lost because they couldn't defend the basic units.

A proper example would be good on this one!

QUOTE

That's true. But it was unscouted and an okayish investment. It draws a lot attention. You can use this and try to kill your opponent. Multitasking is difficult!

Great sov players - Tingu, Kivi, Dankal. I think best sov player is Tingu. Imo soviets have fewer options than the other two factions and it is reason, why they can not defent units and structures better. Their units are not versatile and cost a lot of money. This is reason why they need more rafineries that allies. There is no more tactics that can be done, because they have limited options.
