These brutes from Gorgoroth are no mere trolls. They know black speech, the language of Mordor, and they wield large clubs. They also think more quickly than their cavernous underlings, the Cave Troll.
How to get the Attack Troll
These mid to late-game trolls are purchased from a Troll Cage, which you can hopefully get earlier in the game. The Troll Cage costs 600 resources, an upgrade to Level Two costs 400 resources, and an upgrade to Level Three costs 1000 resources. After being fully upgraded, you can finally use it to obtain the coveted unit, the Attack Troll.
Attack Trolls cost 1000 resources. This may sound hefty, but by the time you get these your economy will be powerful enough to sustain the purchase of quite a few of these beauties. And if you want, you could even get two at a time without a huge hit to your economy.
Combat Uses
These Trolls mainly have a use taking down swordsmen, cavalry units, and occasional archer units, but they can also handle pikemen with ease! You can use hotkeys to take down pikemen. The S key can stop the Attack Troll dead in its tracks, allowing it to attack the pikes without the worry of trampling them by using its club. The following video demonstrates this in action.
Attack Trolls are useful when harassing an opponent's economy too. Their high damage will take down most resource buildings in a few hits. For harassing to be more effective, don't group your Attack Trolls together but instead use them to each attack a resource building individually in order to get more of them down. Dominate Troll
