Played a fairly decent game against sania, think dwarves are my best as i was able to contest the game for a while, does anybody have any tips? having trouble learning how to finish games off? I felt I had him beat but he hung on, got heroes and slowly my noobyness took over and he won it back, any ideas where I went wrong?

PancakePower - Dwarves
MAU|Sania - Angmar

takes more skill late game to win and take control than any other point in the game imo. to control a game and see it through, play as if the game is going to last another hour. if he has heroes, make sure your army that is about to attack will win, don't feed him PP and hero levels.

Aim for level 2+ farms then its only a matter of time

Cam: Yeah +1, very rarely I get a pro to the brink of loosing but it's so hard to finish them off, happened with 1ceb43r twice as well! it seems that having heroes is the key to staying alive, whenever i'm winning they just spam all heroes out and then wing it back somehow. I was trying to keep up the assault and take down his pbs, got a couple but the re-made and his heroes were getting levels. How on earth are you supposed to kill rogash?! Brand used both abilities and keep shooting him, had fullu upgraded pikes bashing him as well and he somehow does his litte jump ability and kills everything..

- Get a forward mine to enemy base fast, dwarves are strongest in early game, as a general rule the longer the game goes on, the enemy becomes stronger than you do as a dwarven player.
-Hit the enemy base early
-constantly expand, youre concentrating too much on fights and you need to multi-task and just quickly build another rb in the process, dont worry about where you do it or what % its on, it gives you CP, resources and map control, the three most important things.
-dont rush the win, you gained the advnantage, got excited and just hit his base constantly( forged blades, catapults), he had RB's on the whole south side as well as around his base. Maintain your pressure on him but send a few units around and kill RB's, as well as giving you map control it cripples his economy and CP limit.
-You lost brand stupidly, if you think you might lose a battle, retreat your hero early (better safe than sorry).
-Dain would have been better in this situation (in my opinion) to help yoru units kill strong heroes like rogash and morg (he gives LD from level 1), he isnt great on his own but he can take a beating and makes your army almost twice as strong.
-target his heroes first, it makes them retreat, weakens his army and renders them useless, also dont fight them with weak forces, this feeds them pp point and hero exp.
-when youre fighting units, as a general rule have dwarven units in defensive stance when archers are behind in aggressive stance (they can take a beating whilst archers pick off enemies)
-set rally points on structures (including fortess, every little helps and it could save you a vital 2 seconds later on)
- use heal to save heroes primarily
- to kill enemy heroes, dont target them at first, defensive stance and dont target them, this makes them think theyre heroes are safe, then suddely switch everything to aggressive stance and target them with everything you have.
-watch the replay yourself, he constantly had the same or more RB's than you, even though you had the upper hand for all early and mid game, defo something you need to work on.

Very essential tip as I experienced the same thing as you Cake. If you have the advantage just utilize it by expanding and crushing the enemy's resources (which he should have trouble defending if you are on top). Control the map and don't try to destroy his base too aggressively (by wasting $$ on risky upgrades or anything).

Hi Luke thanks for the tips and for watching smile.gif this is probably the best i've ever played and still riddled with mistakes tongue.gif

-I stayed away from forward mine so i could build up a little force and rush in from top asap whilst getting men of dale.
- I noticed late on that whilst i was fighting I hadn't built many mines :\ was a little lax on my part, especially since the map control was there for the taking.
-Yeah you're right, got a little excited at actually winning tongue.gif I was thinking angmar can build up a force pretty quick, so I didn't wanna let him have any time to make an army back up.
-Yeah leaving bottom was bad of me, i was so focused on the little battles, I remember thinking to send a unit down there way earlier than I sent the bws but i was loosing a little skirmish and sent it off to the mine.
-Again I agree, was gutted when I lost him, my 3 units went down so fast!
-Dain instead of gloin? I did get dain but a little later on, I went for gloin cos he can smash a few spam units away which is good against ang and i was expecting to be hitting his fort soon after so i wanted his lvl 4 for it.
-I was constantly targetting his heroes but he runs everything away, then when i go for a building he comes back lol i ended up just killing cheap units instead of the expensive stuff a lot of the time.
-Will remember the stances, I normally stand but in the heat I can often forget.
- I proper forgot the heal! whenever I went to use the hero was dead just before it.
-He was good at preserving his heroes, I wasn't, think this lost me the game among other things.
-Had a good watch but it's always good to get a more observant and less bias pair of eyes on things also smile.gif will try and make sure as many of his resources are gone as I can!

Yeah i went for it too early I think, expansion and map control would have been a better shout, I probably would have gone for siege hammers and wrecked his fort that way if it wasn't for rogash, guy is a tank, but i'll try and wittle him down instead of trying to jump right into the fort

Try to get into the habit of using hotkeys, I use DFG for stances, S for stop and X to spread my troops out (this avoids arrow volley and is good for fighting rogash too, he pwned ur army once as they were very clumped near the north river).
