By far the most common are the Chaos Cultists, common civilians who have turned their backs on the Emperor and sided instead with the Dark Gods in exchange for promises of wealth and power. While these are common and usually encountered in large numbers, they are weak, poorly trained and equipped, and gripped with a religious fervor that drives them to prefer close quarters combat over long-ranged firefights. By far the more dangerous threat are the Legions of the Chaos Space Marines, twisted versions of their Space Marine brothers who turned from the Emperor's ways ten thousand years ago and have fought a bloody war of rebellion and vengeance ever since.
Still possessing their Space Marine training, enhancements, and equipment, but fueled by hatred and with such allies as the Possessed Marines and Berzerkers of Khorne, both of whom rend their foes limb from limb with absurd quickness, and Obliterator Cults, demonic Marines who use their powers to warp new weapons into existence to deal with any threat from a distance, the Chaos Space Marines are always a force to be reckoned with.Strategy Guides
