Orks Strategy Index

No matter how far across the stars the forces of Mankind travel, the Orks are always either already there, or soon to follow. One of the most numerous races in the entire galaxy, the Orks are a race that is bred purely for war. Not only are their warrior castes literally built for fighting, but the Ork psyche truly enjoys little in life besides fighting, killing, and conquering.

While their techniques are undeniably crude, no one who has witnessed them in battle can claim that they are ineffective. Melee weapons range from simple clubs, to axes with chainsaw-edged blades the size of a human's torso. Their ranged weapons are whatever the Ork who builds them decides they should be; a simple slug-throwing rifle is just as likely as an energy weapon that picks the victim up and throws it across the field. Their body armor ranges from scraps of metal that are strapped, taped, or directly nailed to their already-resilient bodies, to massive, powered suits of armor that are nearly impenetrable by enemy fire.

Their vehicles are as random as anything else they make, designed at the whim of the Warboss who orders it (sort of) and the Mek who builds it (mostly). They are also just as crudely efficient as their weapons, usually sporting massively oversized machine guns, rocket launchers, and whatever else can be nailed to the side. Their smaller vehicles are ludicrously fast, typically equipped with dangerously-overcharged engines, while their heavier tanks are often simply main battle tanks used by other races, captured in battle and "made Orky".

In battle, Orks are renowned for their lack of concern over individual losses, preferring to swamp the enemy in a sea of green skin, flying axes, and blazing firearms. Their leaders maintain discipline by being large and strong enough to kill any dissenters, so the higher-ranking an Ork warrior, the more physically potent he is, with a Nob being the size of a Space Marine and a mighty Warboss being often twice that much.
