I didn't have any definitive strategy going into this other than harass and annoy my opponent as much as possible, no matter the effectiveness. So I'm sorry to lug00ber, at one point in the game he told me he wanted to kill me biggrin.gif It was frustrating for me too, none of my harassment really seemed to stick. He had good answers for everything. And popped into my base uninvited on a regular basis.

After watching the replay it was even closer than I thought, especially if you pay attention to each of our resources.

Haha, yeah. The plan of ending the social evening with a "quick 1v1" totally backfired biggrin.gif

I was exhausted at the end of this, but still enjoyed both the game and the post game analysis on TS afterwards.

Lug00ber (Chimera)
BO: Unbalanced-Heavy oil into barracks and then aluminum
PROS:
  • Nice composition of terminators, Tigres and Pumas with Spike missile upgrades.
  • Very nice defense plan and use of repair outposts.
  • Some well executed bank takeovers.
  • Diligent POW collector!
CONS/TIPS:
  • Not getting upgrades for frequently used units early enough.
  • Not mining Rare earth resources. Try to get rare earth as soon as you can. Some of Chimera’s best upgrades such as the Grenade Launcher for the Terminator are simply essential in fights. Not to mention the possibility to build Anty’s which are the best mobile anti-air unit in the game.
  • Not scouting. There were 3 missed opportunities that would’ve turned the tie in this game. One in mid game where you stopped on Antichode’s left side with your pumas and Terminators and did not engage the main base. The second one was in the end where you did not scout ahead and did not move your units to the back of Antichodes base, intead you stayed on the road and took fire. The third one also happened in midgame where you simply forgot about your exo soldiers to your left and kinda failed with the group of exos that were engaging Antichode’s base from the right. At that point you could’ve targeted some of the high tech buildings Antichode had (stealth lab and prototypes bay).
Antichode (Random- Cartel)
Build order: Heavy oil, barracks, aluminum

PROS:
  • Very nice aggressive play in the beginning with those super hinds and Scorpios.
  • Use of multipronged attacks.
  • Nice bank takeover by drawing the fire of the Felins away from your breaching contractors.
  • Use of Brems and trying to mass up an effective group of units that compensate each other.
  • Diligent POW collector!
  • Ending the game with a bang! Sending superweapons and bombers.
CONS/TIPS:
  • Missed opportunities. For example, in mid game, where you have given away your force’s position to lug00ber by engaging his aluminum expansion on his bottom left side and not engaging the main base. That happened probably because of the lack of scouting.
  • Sold your aluminum refineries too early without attempting to interrupt the felins.
Entertainment value: 7 / 10
Very intense battles in the beginning. Some use of super weapons and late game aircraft. Multipronged attacks. All very positive. The only downside was the stopping and thinking sequences when nothing happened and both players were standing. Some missed opportunities and the lack of scouting made me reduce the review score from 8 to 7.

Thanks for doing the review, Araton smile.gif

PS: I don't know if I can trust it though, considering you can't see the difference between Chimera and Cartel wink.gif
