Hello guys, I think it was okay game, quite close but I just wondering how I can deal vs USA late game when he spams anti air tanks together with guardians? I tried to make spectres with anti air planes but it seems anti air is so useless I cant believe, should I just engage with my all army to his army? But he can keep going back, his tanks and guardians range is so crazy, or should I just kept spamming hinds myself?
Also one more question, I watched replay and Im confused, how he can see all my units, buildings on the map?
Thanks a lot

Fargo(Cartel)
Build order: 2x oil refinery 1 x barracks

PROS:
  • Very strong economy, really top notch with 2 extension modules and all of your base located resources double manned you were hardly going to be short of resources.
  • Excellent bank harassment with the Jackals, then going on to use them to sit idle and scout the various routes out of the opposing base was just great to see. Maybe use one of them to even scout the base its self as the camouflage will offer it protection allowing you to scout for longer.
  • Very fast tech up, which was only possible thanks to your strong economy.
CONS/TIPS:
  • You successfully captured the enemy back but for a long period of time had units in the surrounding houses and not actually garrisoned within the bank its self ( you had just 2 units in it) Make sure you fill up that bank fast as you never know when it might be taken off you again.
  • Make sure you sell off refineries that have been depleted of all resources. You had lots in your base that went unsold.
  • You want to mix in Otomatics with the 'advanced software' much earlier than you did this would have helped you push forward before your opponent could field the strong army that he managed.
  • I actually have first hand experience on this very same map against the very same player using exactly the same strategy. Once it gets to this stalemate where you can't push forward due to indirect fire armies there are effective ways to counter it. You keep your army on the defensive stopping him killing you, while using Comanche to destroy all of his refineries. This map is huge and Comanche are extremely effective just 2-3 using ambush upgrade can take down a refinery. In the mean time while defending you want to be going for Valkries from the Air Control Centre. These huge planes will literally tear your opponents base apart. Target the HQ and once it's dead all of the enemy buildings and units appear visible to you. (This explains what enabled him to see all of yours.)
  • Try placing some contractors in your Vextra or Jackals as you send them round with your army, you can take the contractors out and capture enemy prisoners. On this note, you filled up your first prison very quickly, you should aim to build more barracks with the prison upgrade.
  • Don't place your Tokamak generator next to your important buildings it has a huge destructive blast when destroyed, instead place it next to an extension module.
letsrock (USA)
Build order: 2x oil refinery 1 x barracks 1 x Aluminium refinery.

PROS:
  • Very nice use of the littlebird placed with your army to detect the enemy stealth tanks.
  • Good army composition, a really good balance of units which were well kited to ensure maximum while sustaining the minimum.
  • Just overall pretty solid play, nothing too spectacular but not too many mistakes either. I think your opponents choice of Berkuts made this an easy ride for you from middle game onwards.
CONS/TIPS:
  • On this map you are offered a large space in which to harass and micro your Recon vehicle, it is especially hard to defend with vipers due to having almost no limitations on approach routes. Also Try not to use the road right into their base it becomes easy to ambush and predict. You might want to also consider getting your Recon vehicle there quicker as by the time you got there your opponent already had an Otomatic out.
  • Bit of a small point, but try and return all of your pilots to your base as soon as they are ejected from vehicles. They offer a substantial cash reward, using a fast transport vehicle to pick them up when you have several on such a large map can be useful.
Entertainment value: 7/10
This game features some pretty solid play overall with no drastic mistakes to be found. The Cartel player Fargo started really well and looked like an early victory, with bank and map control, however some good micromanagement from letsrock and some questionable unit choices from Cartel player in the form of Berkuts means this game edges much closer towards an unclear winner in the middle game. Worth a watch if you have some time on your hands or want to learn a good solid build order.

Thank you a lot Maru for your tips, it makes a lot of sense, but example why I did not see all his buildings, units when I killed his HQ? Just because he had fob???
Also so in straight fight I can not fight him?
Thanks again for review and help, gonna learn to do comanchies, they are really good but not used to make them yet

I'm afraid I don't have any more answers for you, maybe someone better than my self could shed some light on this, I'll see if I can send someone over here. After 10 seconds all his buildings (and possibly units) Should become visible to you. Unless this was changed in a patch?

Don't forget to make valyries for his HQ, they are so useful when the enemy bunkers in like this, you can't attack very well so defend and use air on his base biggrin.gif

As for a straight fight I am struggling to think of much that could help.

Yeah if you have a FoB, it counts as a HQ. So it wont grant vision in till its destroyed.

Personally I am not a huge fan of the mechanic, few games I could have snuck back into if he didn't know where all my buildings where etc...

Yes agreed, I mean if you lose hq at least it should be fair for everyone to see whole map, all buildings is fine still but all units? Its crazy, its like only winning player have a chance to win, not as fun.
Also today I lost game where he managed to capture my hq and killed factory with rax with hinds while I was attacking his base and had way bigger army but lost game due I had no production buildings left, but I could have taken back hq with marine, its strange post-13661-1143531603.gif

I agree that you shouldn't be able to see all the buildings after the HQ is destroyed.

As for having a large army and losing the game because you lost all your production buildings this is pretty standard for an RTS stop fast units abusing their speed and kiting around the map and also stops deadlocks/stalemates.

When you lose a building to destruction or capture it is the same for the game. You don't have it anymore. Lose them all and lose the battle.
