Today, GameReplays.Org brings to you another edition of our Spotlight interview series with the players of Battle For Middle Earth (BFME). the guest for today's segment is Th0rin

1. GameReplays : Hello, Thanks for doing this week's Spotlight. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hello, my name is Tristan and I am 19 years old. I am German and study Civil Engineering, besides video games I love football and listening to Rap music.

2. GameReplays : Tell us a bit about your online gaming history?

BFME was the first online game I played, when I was 10 years old my dad and me played together for the first time. Since then, I made many breaks, for some time I only played a lot of FIFA, GTA and COD with my friends. However, in 2019 I started playing BFME very actively and really enjoyed it.

3. GameReplays : Why did you join GR?

To stay up to date what’s happening in the BFME Community.

4. GameReplays : What is your favorite game?

BFME

5. GameReplays : What is your favorite game genre? Why?

I can’t really decide for one, as I enjoy BFME, FIFA and Assasin’s Creed the most and all three games are different from eachother.

6. GameReplays : So, how did you first get started with BFME?

My dad was playing BFME online since it came out and started playing it with me when I was around 10 years old.

7. GameReplays : What do you like so much about BfME, that has kept you playing the game for years?

It’s not one thing, it’s about details, the strategy and micro that the game requires, the friends I found in the community, the visuals of the game etc… In addition to that I love the LOTR movies and the books of Tolkien. Also, the patch 1.09 brought a lot more fun into the game.

8. GameReplays : What is your favorite army and Match-up?

Rohan and my fav MU in 2vs2 is Rohan Isen.

9. GameReplays : What is your favorite map, and who is your favorite Team game partner?

Mirkwood and Lebennin, of course I enjoyed playing with my dad a lot, especially when I was younger. Now it is hard to choose my ‘favorite’ partner, as I like a lot of the guys, I play with… but I guess I have the most in-game harmony with Dunedain, who made me win the last 2vs2 tourney. He is a great person and a great coach in bfme.

10. GameReplays : What would you do to change or improve game?

I just want more people to play 1.09, as I really like the changes the patch brought into the game.

11. GameReplays : How did it feel to play BfME when you had your "noob" time and what is the difference to your current status as a player?

My “noob” time was not bad, I always played 2vs2 with my dad on the weekends and he taught me the game when I was very young already. When I started to play on my own, I dodged the really good players and kept playing FFA, but in order to improve that was a mistake. Now I play with the currently best players in every mode of the game and enjoy that a lot.

12. GameReplays : Playing against a Forces of Darkness or Forces of Light opponent?

FOD cuz I rather am a FOL player.

13. GameReplays : Killing a high ranked Gandalf the White, or wiping out an entire castle with a Balrog?

Wiping entire castle!
Kill the Gandy that runs inside trying to save the castle, then kill the castle.


14. GameReplays : Army of the Dead or Balrog?

15. GameReplays : What do you like (or dislike?) most about the BfME community?

The stubbornness of some people, for example when they refuse to try new things and just stay on their gamemode, with the same map and the same tactics repeatedly, hating everything new that could require some adapting.

16. GameReplays : What games are you active on currently, and how do your experiences there compare to those from BFME?

Really active I am only in FIFA, which is hard to compare with BFME. It’s Pay-to-win and makes me angrier when I lose, so BFME > FIFA. Offline I like to play games like Assasin’s Creed or Red Dead Redemption 2, which have great stories.

17. GameReplays : Do you like 1.09 and do you play it a lot?

Yes, I love it and its changes. I play it as often as I can, and I wish more people would leave 1.06.

18. GameReplays : How many hours a day do you spend playing games?

Depends on some things… 0 hours on a hot Saturday in summer and 24 hours on a rainy Sunday, but usually it’s around 2-3 hours during the week when I got work/school.

19. GameReplays : How has gaming affected your life?

I guess it only affected my grades in university haha.

20. GameReplays : How high is the influence of micro skills to win a game in 1v1 and 2v2?

In my opinion high, especially when you go to mid/late game, you have to win the important fights and save your heroes to win the game.

21. GameReplays : When you're not gaming or posting on Gamereplays, what do you do in your everyday life?

Meet with my Girlfriend and friends, studying, playing football. Sometimes going to the cinema or the restaurant.

22. GameReplays : Where do you see yourself in 5 Years from now?

Working as an Engineer during the day and playing bfme in the evening, while my girlfriend is yelling at me to help with dinner.

23. GameReplays : If you could give one tip of advice to others like you, what would it be?

If you want to improve, learn from your mistakes and the best way to do that is to play with good/better players. Try out new things, even if that means that you will lose your first games.

24. GameReplays : If you want to meet a bfme player in real life who would be that player? why?

I’d like to meet the people that I play with the most on discord, for example Dune, Alan, Danny, Yoshi, Bwel, Felix, Fishy, …

25. GameReplays : Who do you think is best bfme player right now?

Alan and Dune

26. GameReplays : Who do you think is the best player of all times?

Can’t really tell as I mostly only experienced the time in which Alan and Dune are dominating the game.

Competitive

28. GameReplays : If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future?

Back in time to the 80s and 90s…

29. GameReplays : What is your dream in life?

Gaining a lot of money for my family.

30. GameReplays : What has been the biggest challenge in your life so far?

The last exams.

31. GameReplays : If you could star in a movie, what genre would it be and what role would you play?

I’d be the new Spiderman.

32. GameReplays : If you had to move to another country, which country would you pick and why?

Maybe Hungary, I have roots there and my grand parents are living there. I like the country and the food.

36. GameReplays : If you could only have one meal (including drink) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Fajitas with a lot of Guacamole and as drink I go with Sparkling Water.

37. GameReplays : If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

Buy a house in Cancun (Mexico) right in front of the Caribbean Sea.
