Not one of my best performances with Gondor but still it shows how this MU should be played instead of laming trebs and stoneworkers.

Overview

A good Gondor vs Isen, with plenty of action. Isen was thrown off his containment strat early game with the introduction of Faramire and Borromire and they were quickly followed by combos which kept him on his toes. There were some close battles going either way, and both players were very close in the pp race, but Gondor managed to keep his army in tact giving him the advantage, but was set back slightly by some pro Balrog usage taking down the Gondor castle in one. gg guys.

CreaM|P1E / Isen

You start was good, you intercepted his soldiers early and killed them pretty quick, remember to go in to block formation however when you are attacking. You decided to get a early creeps with uruks, which worked well, and you get pikes out in time to deal with knights. There was one point at the bottom right creep where you had 2 pikes and tried to kill boromire and faramire at the same time as getting the creep, I would have got the creep and ran the pikes of, you ended up losing all the pikes and the creep. While this was happening lurts was on his way and you did well to kill boromire, however you should have pinned faramire and ran, not stayed and fight, then you could have saved lurts. This game was decided really by your mistakes, there are a few things to watch out for. You lost a few warg battalions to his knights and elf summon, which set you back and lost you some map control, when it came to your first siege you only had about half of your population cap, really need full by that stage. When you were seiging you were slow to use WC and need to use saruman to his full potential. It can be really useful to grima his knights and then go attack his own troops. It was a shame you had lost your army otherwise you could well have made a game of it after some superb Balrog micro taking his base drol.gif , but unfortunately he had kept his army and you could not repel him, but well played.

Mistakes / Things to improve

• If you have injured battalions try to give them banner so they regenerate, and it saves you buying more troops.
• Work on WC timing
• Use industry, forgot at times
• The big killer was leadership, I might have been mistaken but I only think you used rain twice! I think you simply forgot about his power.
• To handle his combos its useful to have some fully uped uruks to run in, they can do a lot of damage
• Work on your hero micro, lurts and saruman have a lot of potential which I didn’t feel you used to the full.

[PLOW]BooMKat / Gondor

Your start was not brilliant, might have been better to try and get his mill down. Also you didn’t use pippin, either have him creep the bottom warg or go and harass isens mill. I think your early heroes was a nice addition, throwing isen off from the normal pike spam routine and allowing you to keep more mc. Good work at the bottom left creep killing 2 pike battalions and getting the creep, however you then lost both of them to lurts and fully upped wargs. When he came with his first siege I though that you could have saved your knight battalion, it was good however the way you rebuilt the wall to save borromire, a little lucky since saruman had hit him with fire blast inside the castle wall. Generally you were very good at know when to retreat from his army, and not get sucked in to a fight. In the middle some nice work with elves killing saruman and taking out his ballista’s thum.gif , however try and keep your heroes out of harms way, borromire would often go charging in. When you got the outpost I think that it would have been a good idea to get a stables there, you were well on the way to AOD and that and knights takes down a fod base very quickly. However despite this you did a very nice attack taking him out and managing to keep much of your army, which was the key since you didn’t have to wait to rebuild after his first rog, and so you could push the win home, well played.

Mistakes / Things to improve

• Make more use of pippin early game.
• Try to keep your knights alive, I thought you lost them carelessly, compared to the level of micro you showed.
• Keep heroes at the back of your army just to give leadership so they are out of harms way.
• I didn’t really feel your first AOD summon was used to full effect, it is a troop killer and he didn’t have any troops to kill. If you had saved it could have possibly saved your base from the Balrog.
