Overview:

A well executed early game by Mordor, his harassment allowed him to take both of Gondors farms down and take a couple of the creeps. Gondor was slow at getting knights out and harassing which allowed Mordor to build up a large army to defend/attack with. Gondor realised late game that his tactical approach wasn't going to work and built stoneworks. Mordor became impatient in the end and ran into Gondor with everything he had and lost it all giving Gondor AoD.

wolfszahn77

When you started you really hurt your harassment by going 2 farms in, 2 out 4 blacksmiths. You gave Mordor the time to gather up a large formidable army which gave you a very hard time. Against Mordor the one thing you cannot do is give him time. Your knights came out very late and you didt buy HS until mid game almost which hurt you once he made his combos. You were extremely fortunate both time he attacked you that he didn't have his trolls equipped with trees, if so then your army would of been desolated within seconds.

At your outpost don't bother with a tower unless its very early game and he only has 1-2 trolls out which may come near by. Always buy a statue next to your well so when the attack does come to have extra leadership there to support your army. The most crucial thing you ned to be aware of is the cash floating you done throughout the entire game, if you didnt cash float you could of had a much larger army out faster and possibly turned this game around. Also decide on whats more important to you early on, a good economy? Or a strong hero? Don't buy a market an then go for Gandy without buying anthing from the market. Also after you have bought all upgrades from the stoneworks demolish it. It's useless after that.

Points for Improvement
  • Visit the Gondor strategy forums for a better initial build order and strategy.
  • Don't trample in wedge formation, you have less armour and take more damage.
  • Don't rush out Faramir before you get knights onto the field, you were very slow in the harassment
  • Don't lay land down first if you know he has land to cover it
  • Don't buy structures (market) if you don't plan on using it for a long time

Your early game was pretty good although i would of preferred to creep with your early orcs instead of sending them to harass. Your econ would of flourished much faster if you had took 1-2 creeps earlier. When you came to the small fight at the centre of the map remmeber to always equip your trolls with trees or rocks to either inflict damage from range or have a wider attack range close up. Don't walk into battle with your trolls, once your within his firing range run in and cause mayhem otherwise your only allowing him to make some free hits on your army.

When it got to mid game you had about 7200 in cash and still a substantial army left over. At that point i would of saved for WK but instead you lined up about 8 more trolls and then lost pretty much all of then not long after to eagles and Gandy. Once you had taken the bottom outpost from Gonfor you needed to be patient and just build some seige up and slowly seige his castle. Don't rush in like you did, as you noticed you lost everything while only killing a small amount of what he had left. After that fatal assault you would of struggled to make a come back due to the fact he had AoD and you were still 4 PP away from Balrog. Remember - slow and steady wins the race.

Points for Improvement
  • Make some extra labourers at your mills early on for a boosted economy.
  • Equip your trolls with trees and rocks to kill gandy and his units faster ( extra attack range with trees )
  • Make seige from a nearby outpost, don't rely on your trolls
  • Make WitchKing earlier, the added ld would of greatly increased your chances early on
Overall Rating: 4
