Overview:

Quite a passive game without a lot of harassment and no real sense of urgency. The Gondor player seems to lose quite a bit of interest when his siege fails to get him inside the Rohan castle and in the end he gives too many PP's away with fruitless attacks and dies quite quickly.

Robinson66

A quite defensive start. It took you a very long time to get out of your own half of the map with your Knights and you really needed to get out there and harass teh Rohan economy. Some soldiers and Knights were stood around doing nothing for quite a while and you can't do that and expect to win. You were doing well in the battle with the Rohirim because of your upgrades and Rohan was being slow to upgrade and had no leadership. You could have used that dominance to get trebs earlier and really hit Rohan much sooner than you did. That would probably have won you the game. Instead you went for a couple of combos and sieged quite poorly. You moved the trebs right up to the enemy instead of firing at them and you reinforced your front line very poorly so when you lost your army you had nothing left and the end came quite soon after.

Points for Improvement
  • Keep your Knights and soldiers moving and harassing at the start.
  • If you are going for combos then you need 3 or 4, not 2.
  • Don't keep using the EW PP after about 2-3 uses, you will get overlayed by the enemy.
  • You shouldn't get the Rohan Allies and Cloud Break PP, go for Elven Allies and Eagles.
  • While attacking be producing more troops to reinforce your lines faster.

Not a bad start. You got over to the other side of the map OK and harassed the economy and crept. Your first big mistake was getting Eomer as your first hero. You should have got Theoden because then your Rohirim would have a much better chance against the Knights. The fact that the Knights were upgraded and you had no leadership heroes and no upgrades yourself for ages meant you got pushed back inside your own castle. Legolas was also not particularly useful because he died quite early and that money could have been spent on your own upgrades.

You should always keep your Rohirim harassing the enemy economy and your hobbit can cloak next to a farm plot when you destroy it and reserve it from the enemy. Your hobbit got caught uncloaked and gave a farm back to the enemy. The siege was quite poor and the Gondor player seemed to lose interest and failed to build any more troops. After that it was quite simple for you to recapture map control and hit the Gondor castle with AotD because he gave you so many PP's by poor sieging. You could have avoided it all by going for 2 Rohirim, Theo and then ents probably. In this game I think that simple strategy would have worked.

On the plus side, your formation use was quite good and you got EW to out-land-spam the enemy. The statue in your castle really saved you from defeat and you had it positioned perfectly. You used Legolas' Train Archers ability and you finished the Gondor castle off very efficiently.

Points for Improvement
  • Get Theoden first for his leadership boost.
  • Don't fight upgraded Knights on EW when you have no Ld and no UG's.
  • Get upgrades much faster instead of Legolas.
  • Keep harassing the farms mid game with a spare bat of Rohirim.
