Team 1: PayBackIsNasty (Mordor) / WonderTruls (rohan), East Team 2: chynia (Isengard) / WhoIsTheSmurf (Isengard), West
Overview: A very fun game to watch and also a very skilled game. Dbl Isen did very good to make it hard for Rohan/Mordor to take them out, but in the long run, Rohans constant Rohirrim harassment payed of. Lots of action, big battles and very good play so well worth the watch.
Team 1 Commentary:
The biggest problems you had was not in early game. The rush did not do that much to you and you could fast get back to speed. Instead you struggled in the first big battles. You used eye and saw them draw back and at that point you should have keept your ground, waited for eye to recharge and also get a few catas out. When you had gotten WK you cashfloated abit and could have gotten Catas there, but made a few more trolls instead.
Even though you kept together you were outplayed in the first big battles. you did not time trolls and combos right, you left out rohirrim and cata micro was poor. They could to easy target the catas up front, and then target trolls or combos. You had to little fire to really hurt saruman. In this case it gets even more important to use trolls and rohirrim, something you did not and therefor gave them to many wormetoungs.
At the second battle at there base, you attacked with WK and Rohan had to use a heal (very pro heal if I might add) to save him. That heal was just waisted now tbh and would have been to better use later on units.
Then also some small but importent things as forgetting eye, having nazguls and not send them with Rohirrim that flanked Isenbase that only was protected by 2 pikes. Naz would have owned them and Rohirrim would have had free access to destroying that base. And also the fact that Mordor after Isen broke Rohans wall did nothing. You had trolls, DTs, Catas and just seemed to guard Rohan base. You did not have to do this. You cashfloated, could have gotten another troll cage or siegework. Isen could not possibly move up enough to kill that Rohan base befor you could send protection. But I guess you figured that Rohan would do fine with WK LD and AoD and of course that was the case.
You were saved in this game by very good rohirrim use, very good wk use (exept one time) and some amazing moves. To cast ents, and then CB to freez the combos so ents can walk over etc was brilliant.
The first battle in middle, were you cast land, use wk screech and rohirrim to really hurt there first combos. Overall you played a good game, with good teamwork but you failed in using your mixed army in the way you needed to handle there saruman and combos.
Points for improvment:
Point 1: Cata protection, dont let them get killed that easy. Point 2: Remember to use eye and nazguls better. Point 3: You need to handle Saruman better, with only 3 combos you need to be even more timed with the trolls and rohirrim. Point 4: Vs that much fire, keep WK as LD support and not as an attacking unit.
Team 2 Commentary:
I think your first rush could have been better. You got the orcpit down wit the first uruk, but the 2 next could have gone for citadell. He would not have been able to get a SH up perhaps and you could have followed up on the mills. Now you got 1 tower instead and 1mill, but since he had 2mills and 1 SH he could start pumping out eco buildings from start. You struggled early game because you were to sloppy with some starting units. Losing a combo to 1 rohirrim bat is not really good. You brought them up to far and they took advantage of it. Having non pike units and FU without banner is dangerous when there is a WK and rohirirm on the map.
But in the battles you outplayed them and really did a good work. Saruman use was PRO and you pulled back and attacked at the right time.
The thing that end it for you was there constant rohirrim harassment. You could not stop it and to many towers feed him PP. AoD made it impossible foryou to win this game. Still you had good teamwork, counterd there army with good hero and PP use. If those rohirrim could have been stopped maybe you could have gone all the way. I cant say if you could have won this, its a hard matchup. But it was obvious that there rohirrim was the game winner since they took down armory, wargpit etc for you and made it hard to get a counter up. Better pike protection early game in base, instead of seinding uruk+xbows out on the map could have made a differens.
Points for improvment:
Point 1: Be more carefull with early units. Non pikes and no banner equals bad idea vs rohirirm + WK. Point 2: Use Sarumans lvl up ability more often. Point 3: Early harssment stoped after first rohirrim got out. Could still have tried to sneak up a pike and zerker.
Overall Rating: 7 I would have given this RoTW contender and Silver!!
