Starting Possitions
Gondor / Decruce – West
Isengard / Gamroth – East

Overview

Two quite equally matched players, some good battles, quite a few mistakes, but with some moments of brilliance. Early game Isen always seemed one step behind, but some poor gandy micro and a well timed saruman turned the game around. But there were still more twists and turns to come, well played guys.

Gondor / Decruce

Your early game was very good, you hampered his economy and were always one step ahead, very fast soldiers to counter pike spam and a nice HS rush getting elves and taking out armoury delaying upgrades. However I think you could have done so much more damage here, be careful with elves, keep them out of his base and away from his towers that way your horses would have been free to take out more buildings. Your 2nd HS rush was poor imo, you didn’t really know what you wanted to do ended up running in to the middle of his base taking a lot of damage and then lost a battalion of knights. You placed a very late elven wood which was a bad move, meant that he could cancel 2 of yours and gave him an advantage in that area. Very soon after you got gandy you lost him, really need to keep an eye on where lurts is, use knights to scout. I think the main thing which lost you this game was not getting comos early, you had the money map control, and this would have sealed it for you I think, since Isen was so far behind you. The turning point was when you lost all your infantry army, and then his siege on your base and Balrog I thought it was gg, but a moment of brilliance, perfect timing of gandy lighting and istari light killing his Balrog giving you AOD and rank 9 gandy bowdown.gif ! But then you went and lost gandy needlessly and lost all your knights on the other side of the map to pikes, including your rank 10 knights. cry.gif Near the end when you had held him off, went to top right outpost, should have gone to bottom one and taken out his siege shop etc. In the end isens constant stream of units was too much but wp.

Mistakes / things to improve

• Watch formations, was sometimes off, especially with soldiers.
• Be careful with gandy
• Use boromire and faramire’s rank up, don’t think you used it once.
• Change elves to swords when fighting wargs

Isengard / Gamroth

I thought your early game was quite weak; you were always on the back foot. When he rushes with soldiers, if you micro your uruks in front of them they won’t be able to attack the mill. Because you went furn at the start your pikes came quite late and you lost both your mills. I think that you really needed to get wargs earlier to combat the soldier spam since he was dominating the map. When his gandy came out you did very well to contain him and killed him. It was good that you changed pit placement, it was quite exposed where it was, which is why you lost it. You then managed to kill gandy again and get saruman out to battle his army and this was the turning point since you killed him off and started to get map control back and began your siege. When you got Balrog I bet you thought ahh gg, but superb gandy micro killed him off frusty.gif and pushed you back again. In a few of your sieges you need be more careful with saruman, kept running him in and losing him. Very nice use of wargs, ran them in and took out treb shop, barracks and archery range thum.gif . In your next siege you did a very nice grima, taking all his combos, but then you got hung up in gandy, trying to kill him grouped your army together which he blasted and got rank 10, then WOP killing your whole army, would have been better to take out citadel and key buildings, since he didn’t have a lot of money. In the end your better economy meant you could rebuild troups fast enough to smother him and win the game, good comeback, well played.

Mistakes / things to improve

• Remember to use howl
• Keep saruman out of harms way
• Be careful with pike formation, was slow with this at times.
• If lots of soldiers early wargs to counter imo since you lost to much map control.

Tbh, I try to not lame as much as possible unlike you Mav tongue.gif . Tbh, Gon vs. Roh is the only mu that I start the game and aim towards Gtw laming. In this game, I was going to just mass soldiers and tg's but once again, just too late...
