I cant even remember playing this. It was thug who mentioned watching it 2 me on msn, I presume luan sent him the rep. But I watched and this was pretty intense. His containment strat, along with Isen being v strong vs gondor made for a good watch.
I lost in the end, but the mirco skills showed from both was very high.
At some point in the game i was just thinking ''How the hell is luan gonna defeat gerrard if gerrard keeps palying like this''
Containment strategy really pressured Gerards knights, but it could be broken as many times in this game is shown. Gerrard just really kept retreating his knights each time the wrong way. Luan's containment had 1 weak spot in his containment all game tbh, but that was the long road back.
I guess containment strategy works very good, but against very good players it will have a less chance, cus it can be broken with good micro and insight in the game.
Very nice game though, but I still wonder if Luan would have been able to win, if Gerrard didn't callopse at 2/3th of the game.

really the combos were jsut cause I had quite a cash float after gadnalf, and since SW is a swear word among 1.03 players combos were all I could purchase really

Well if eventually I get screwed over, I will just switch back to the regular pike at each mill. When he finally does retreat or I see a chance to move back, I will go back into containment. However, If you had 3-4 FU Wargs and every single pike FU, there's nothing that can break it imo. I also could have upp'd the pike count for the weak spot but I choose to force the issue and siege quicker and possibly try to not allow players to ever get to GtW, trebs, and sw.
And @ containment vs. past regular: you play 10 games with each and tell me which had the higher win %. I'm not denying if you break it and have good micro/macro, you get a little screwed, but it's not the end of the world. In fact, I want him to come over to my side of the field most of the time. More chances for me to take out a knight and force him to micro like no other.
