Battle for Middle Earth

[R] Double Isen vs Rohan, Gondor

#1Daemon  Sep 14 2006, 22:57 PM -
I managed to completely screw my start up due to the lag preventing my farm from building and my soldiers were halfway across the map before I realised. After that my cavalry was slow to come out.

The double Isen managed to have cavalry dominance for a while but I think they left it too long. The battles near the end are nice and epic. A review would be nice.

this was good vs evil btw to thier discretion .

but this is a good strt for double isen i think . those wargs dominated the map and we practically had no outside farms for the majority of the game

Liked the part where ara and theo got bombed biggrin.gif
Bad unit scatter, same with heroes.
Lost Gandy more than once i think.
Almost no use of heroes powers. If yes sometimes unthoughtful and too late, i.e. experience from theo and fara wasnt used until late game. Gandy ran about the place without knowing what to do. Use your knights to shield gandy.
No siege from Gondor. Shudve gone siege instead of combos cuz rohan had them.. and u ended up spending all ur unit points in combos.
Saruman was running all over the place.

Final comment: wacko.gif

And Axcell, if u review this pls take a look at what sammy posted. smilie_naughty.gif
If you have time of course.

Thx bud!

PayBackIsNasty(Rohan) and TheCheeseRanger(Gondor)
vs.
DarkR3AP3R(Isengard) and DEADaRIZES(Isengard)
Map: Anorien

PayBackIsNasty(Rohan)

Start BO: 2 farms (in) > Merry > 2 farms(out)

PP Progression: Draft > Heal > Adruil > EW > Ents

Strategy: Merry > Peasants > Aragorn > Gimli > Theoden > Peoman > Upgrades > Elves

TheCheeseRanger(Gondor)

Start BO: 2 farms(in) > Pippin > Farm(out)

PP Progression: EW > Heal > GtW > Elves > Eagles

Strategy: Pippin > Knights > Faramir > Upgrades > Gandalf > Combos > Boromir > Ranger/TG combos > Trebs

Team Creeps: 2/4

Pros:
smile.gif solid teamwork
smile.gif used beacons
smile.gif used EW very well
smile.gif shared powers
smile.gif massive LD

Cons:
sad.gif bad start (Gondor missed a farm)
sad.gif Rohan player cash floated (had 5000+ before he bought Aragorn, and 3000+ before Gimli)
sad.gif Gondor was late to get 6 BS
sad.gif always need to knock farms before your opponent destroys them
sad.gif poor hero micro: lost Gandalf, Faramir, Aragorn, Theoden, Boromir on multiple occasions
sad.gif bad hero awareness (left Aragorn and Theoden standing near a mine, let Boromir chase and uruk bat all the way to an Isen base where he was killed

Overall, you guys had a pretty good game. Your opponents had a great strategy which really controlled the early stages of the game. Then your heroes came out and took over the battlefield. Try to watch your cashfloating a bit more in the future. Also, get 6 BS as quickly as you can. Destroy farms before your opponent kills them so he dosen't get PP from it. Your biggest con of course was your losses of heroes. You should never send heroes off to fight alone, especially not when Lurtz's cripple power is near. Always back your heroes up with other units. You can also try puting your heroes in back of your army. This will utilize their LD and will keep them out of trouble. Good game and good luck in the future.

PayBackIsNasty/ TheCheeseRanger Overall Score: 5/10

DarkR3AP3R(Isengard)

Start BO: Uruk pit > 2 mills

PP Progression: WC > Industry > Rain

Strategy: Uruks > Wargs > Pikes > Combos > Upgrades > Lurtz > Ballistas/ Ladders > Saruman > Mines

DEADaRIZES(Isengard)

Start BO: Uruk pit > 2 mills

PP Progression: WC > Palantir > Industry > TL

Strategy: Uruks > XBows > Pikes > Wargs > Combos > Upgrades > Lurtz > Saruman

Team Creeps: 2/4

Pros:
smile.gif fast pikes
smile.gif extra labs
smile.gif good harassment
smile.gif good strategy

Cons:
sad.gif need to knock down warg pit if not in use
sad.gif lost heroes
sad.gif lost lots of wargs
sad.gif waited too long to attack them

Overall, you guys had an OK game. You had a great start and your strategy really worked out for you early. However, you waited too long to attack your opponents with infantry, allowing them to mass heroes giving them huge LD bonuses. Try not to expose your heroes to much, don't put them in the front of your army. Retreat your wargs if they are on low health and don't send them into fights they cannot win e.g. vs. elvs and combos with mass LD. Good try and good luck in the future.

DarkR3AP3R/ DEADaRIZES Overall Scroe: 4.5/10

An ok game between a double Isen and the 2 FoL factions with even creeping. Isengard's had a better tart and early game put let up in their pressure a bit, allowing the FoL players to get lots of heroes. FoL armies were backed up with massive LD throughout the fight, and were unstoppable. Second Isen quit after first Isen was destroyed. OK gameplay but some mistakes were made. Mildly entertaining.

Overall Score: 5/10
Entertainment Value: 5/10
