]EC[TraNcE` (Mordor) vs Dream|J0SH (Rohan)
Name of game : team soradvs dream josh BFME version : 1.02 Players : ]EC[TraNcE` (#NR) vs Dream|J0SH (#NR) Game played on : 2005-06-26 Duration: 01:01:46 Map : Fords of Isen
Match description: "Finally. Finally, my scouts discovered it - the last refuge of Rohan". Sauron nods to his most feared servants, the nazguls - shortly after Mordor's army - siege towers, trolls, catapults, hardadrims and mumakils - heads towards the Fords of Isen to finally exctinct this annoying people from middle-earth. Will Rohan's heros and brave Rohirrim be able to withstand Mordor's power?
defended mills good pressure on his farms fast creeping haradrim to threaten his rohirrim should've stopped siege-tower production to get nazgul faster being able to kill his rohirrim. He didn't have Eowyn for a long time. don't mass your orcs waiting for the tower in front of his base, where he can see and trample them. At least mix in some soldiers of rhun to prevent him form trampling you. getting mumakils. weren't too efficient, maybe more catas or trolls instead. He already had fire. second nazgul came just in time to kill his Aragorn. good naz-micro. Tbh, I don't know if it due to your micro but you only lost one or two nazguls bc Legolas had a lot of "dry-fires" with his hawkstrike. Maybe it was just bad Legolas-micro or a bug.
Player summary: It was refreshing to see something different to the nowadays very common early-trolls+troll spam-strat. You had a nice mix of units and didn't really make any huge mistakes, imho. However, you should've stopped spamming siege towers, most of them didn't even reached his base bc they were destroyed by his rohirrim. You forgot to get something to protect them, eg faster nazgul, more trolls or, maybe the best, masses of haradrim and soldiers of rhun + eventually nazgul. that would've killed him faster, I think. I liked how you constantly put huge pressure on him with the goal to get balrog asap. Nice job!
Dream|J0SH (aka TeamSorad, Rohan)
crept /w peasants+Merry when you had the time to do so didn't attack base (no towers there). However, might've been useless, since it takes forever to destroy furnaces and he also had 2 haradrim to scare u away. It's just that I noticed he didn't have to build towers in his base for a long time. lost 1 of your rohirrim because you were too greedy trampling orcs with them once Aragorn got out rushed with him to his base, destroyed his rank 2 hara-palace and retreated to his upper OP when it got too dangerous good job killing his siege tower and his first Op /w the siege-workshops got Eomer to counter siege-tower-strat saved Aragorn /w GCed rohirrim by killing 2 trolls. later on, lost Legolas bc he was too far away from base very nice attack on his base, killing half of the buildings /w your GCed rohirrim it was good to stay there with one bat of rohirrim but that shouldn't have been a level 10 unit and definetely not Eomer. Both got killed. second attack on his base /w Aragorn. Lost him to a nazgul. Was missing defending your castle getting ent-summon. Delayed getting Aotd several times Legolas didn't manage to hit the nazguls with his hawkstrike. Though, right now I'm not sure if he really was aiming at them, watching the match I've just heard the sound FX and the nazzies weren't hurt. waited till all 4 yeomen got out and then trained them /w Legolas. They were very useful defending your base using Eomer's spear vs. catas getting ent-summon was bad enough, but using it was really bad. They didn't deal any damage but gave him an huge boost in PPs. Good job surviving that long!
Player summary: Really great defense of your base, he had to get Balrog to finish you! However, by not getting ent-summon (and not using it!) you might have been able to have Aotd by the time he got balrog. In the end while the balrog was in you base but still half of the base alive, you would've had enough PPs to get Aotd. With not getting elven wood, you would've got even before him. But you had to get EW to stop him spamming tainted land. I liked that you constantly were checking the map to find his rams+siege towers. You might have been too agressive, eg losing Aragorn. Wihtout losing him you might've had the money to get fire-upgrade and archers earlier.
Overall summary: Entertaining match with constant action. I never had to fast-forward. Mordor puts a lot of pressure on Rohan who is doing a good job defending. Even though there are also a lot of trolls in this replay, it's different to most of the other replays Mordor-Rohan that I've watched recently, ie fast-troll to troll-spam-strat. Refreshing to see it. Both players were playing at a good level and I've enjoyed watching this match.
Overall rating: 7/10

hey thx for the good review. About getting the ent summoned, he got darkness so fast that I didn't want to get sunlight (and I had to use land to defend)
I was really trying to use the ents on his base, but when I got them I wasn't near his base to use them. So I just finally used the ents in front of my base and they didn't really do anything except get owned.
Trance just beat me, nothing I could really do. Even getting his base early didn't really seem to slow him down as he would just attack from the outposts.
Wouldn't have known this either - well, finally we know it's the average of all votes... Someone fixed it, now it's 7 - thanks!

Imho, you should at least have waited with getting the next power after EW. While Mordor has Trolls and Nazguls, ents aren't too useful - except that you might be able to take some pressure from your base by summoning them near his base.
Basically, after a while this match became a race to Balrog/Aotd and with getting cloudbreak this race would've been much closer. With Aotd you might've been able to win - or at least to survive for a much longer time. Of course, CB isn't that useful but neither are ents. Also, I haven't looked for it in the INIs, but I remember that someone over at the rohan-strat forum said that Cb cancels all enemy LD for 15s. If it's true, it could help to

Agreed (except for the PP thing). the problem was tha he had total MC and you couldn't really do something about it bc of all the trolls and nazguls, the only hope really was getting Aotd in time, imho. And it's been great that you survived such a long time!
