Very rarely do I play well against a Gondor on Fords, but this time it was a bit different. I was doing good and then Ganday came out and started being gay, and then he killed my cage because all my trolls were near his castle . Rating ftw. [attachmentid=231366]

Starting Spots: West- Gondor East- Mordor
This was an OK game. Gondor didn't have the best start, but he had an OK mid-game, managing to take out Mordors mills. However, Gondors poor early game allowed Mordor to creep like wild, giving Mordor loads of PP and cash, and allowing him to get lots of trolls out. Gondor repelled one seige effort and then looked to expand to an outpost, but his army was unprepared for the might of Mordor's mass trolls.
Mordor
Good game by you, though you were handed the game in a way. Be sure to watch your cashfloating early on, as you were focusing on creeping you had a little cashfloat going. Also, be sure to re-use industry asap. Also, I would suggest you only use trolls with rockis if you have alot of trolls withrocks, imho having only 3-4 trolls with rocks is nearly useless, as they can do very little against Gandalf, while 6-8 trolls with rocks can do much more. Also, as you mentioned, rocks aren't so useful on his host, considering he can move Gandalf easily. Be sure to also keep a troll or 2 at your base at all times to guard against rushes.
Gondor
Not the best game from you. Your early game wasn't so good, try either splitting your soldiers or attacking gollum, he took a huge toll on your force. You can also time your heal better in that situation, heal them right before the second soldier in a bat dies, to preserve the bat for as long as possible. Your early-mid game was good, you got his mills down, and managed to creep a few wargs. Then you settled in, and waited for Gandalf. In this period you need to harass him better. Split your knights up and use all of them at once to out-micro his trolls. Even if you are only able to trample his laborers before running away that is something. You then began to upgrade, get archers, and lame Gandalf. First off, you need to get armor, period. Second, using archers free-standing is not a good move imo, they are best off protected by soldiers in combos. Combos make it so that when his trolls rush, the trolls kill the soldiers up front, but don't hit the archers in back, giving your archers more time to fire. When your knights are being pursued by nazgul, put them in wedge, this will prevent them from being killed in one hit, such as happened to yours when they were in line formation. When rushing his base, dont be afraid to hang out longer. One of your bats got to low health, and you retreated all of them. Only retreat the low health battalion, and if you do retreat a battalion, try retreating it to your enemies mills, to kill them, then let hem respawn outside his base, then use them to rush again. Finally, don't cast land late game, it only costs 1 pp for Mordor to counter it, and that will only serve to give him places of land on the map.

Ya I think so too. Also teh archers needed armor desperately imo. I was experimenting with trolls with rocks and they're not effective on Gondor's host unless the guy has no idea how to micro gandalf.
