[attachmentid=95060]I know we were still a bit noob back then..including me..but it' over a month ago. And I thought I'd finally post it since it's an awesome game. I'd love to have a review although it's not a very "pro" game. It's a great game nevertheless. Can someone give a review please? I'd be thankful

Strategy: Rohirim, Horse Heroes, Yeomen, Upgrades; Fast camp, Legolas and Aragorn, Yeomen, Upgrades
Left creep last hit for Theoden to level up. Got G.C. and used it well. Rank 10 Rohirim Archers. Some beacon use. Used Legolas' Train Archers skill.
No economy harassment. Rohirim Archers not in wedge formation. Got too many wells and reduced economy. No statue in initial camp to defend it. Poor land use. Poor Archery Range positioning.
Comments: The start was theoretically OK but you didn;t have the resources to defend the centre. After getting the centre you tried to hold it with Aragorn and Legolas and it was never going to work. The Gondor Knights and Faramir alone could have taken it from you. You might have done better if you had tried to hold the centre without buying it and then buying it when you had more troops available to defend it later. Not having a statue in the camp initially also made it more difficult to defend.
There was not a single farm harassed in this game which was very disappointing to see. No attempt at all to hit the enemy economy.
Land usage got you into serious trouble at one point when counter attacking to re-take the centre. You dropped EW right at the entrance to the Gondor centre camp and the enemy immediately dropped their land over yours and from then on you were trying to retake the centre on enemy land and it made it much more difficult. Mid-game you should never use land unless defensively because most people will have bought it by then and hold it back to see if you use yours first. Usually mid-game the first person to use land will lose the land battle so resist the temptation.
In the end you finally found the weak link in the enemy and went for the Rohan player who was more passive and hit him hard. Once you did that the game was over but it was a long time coming because they did put up a good fight but you were never in too much trouble except the time when Gondor rode 4 bats of Knights into your castle and started dismantling it. That was good to watch because with some leadership with the Knights they might actually have mamanged to turn the tide of the game quite drastically.
Got G.C. and used it well. Used Legolas' Train Archers skill. Used Theoden's Kings Favour skill. Some beacon use. Rank 10 Knights.
No Knight formation use. Rohirim Archers not in wedge formation. Two wells, you only need one between the two of you.
Comments: There was not a single farm harassed in this game which was very disappointing to see. No attempt at all to hit the enemy economy. This is vital at the start to get your team ahead and get an early advantage.
You did well to capture the centre from the enemy early on. For a while I thought you would just sit there and do nothing but you took it from the enemy quite easily. After that your ent micro to try to siege the enemy was not so good. When faced with lots of archers from Rohan I would have tended to let Gondor get trebuchet's rather than try too many ents. The failed ent attacks just fed PP's to the enemy and in the end the whole game was decided by the Armies of the Dead and who could re-arm faster with just enough to cripple the enemy before the AotD could recharge.
At the end it was a coordinated attack on the weaker Rohan player that did it with lost of PP abilities combined.
More variety of troops was required here. Some ground troops from Gondor backed up with Boromir would have been very good against the exclusive Rohan cavalry spam on the other side. Gandalf is good but also recongnise when to use his leadership bonuse to help your Knights and use Knight formations to increase damage as well. With both of these you may well have succeeded in taking down the Rohan castle quicker before they were able to respond.
Team Rating: 3

A nice bit of toe-to-toe fighting but technically not a high quality micro game.
Certainly entertaining to watch the big set piece battles but unfortunately the game would have been much better if eith side had harassed the enemy economy. If that had happened at the beginning then this might have had quite a good rating.
