Starting positions:
Horizon - Northwest
Gamroth - Southeast

Overview:

An exciting battle between FoD's both with risky starts. The early game lasts longer than usual but adds tension and excitement to the equation. Game goes back and forth leading all the way to quite a few balrog summons. Micro was at a very high level and strats were near on the dot. The finish will get your adrenahline running! Great game and great watch.

Horizon - Isengard

You started off pretty well but in FoD vs. FoD MU's, being offensive is always key so try to gear yourself to be a little more offensive (WC, uruks, zerks). Try to think of it as "an eye for an eye"; he's on his way to take your mill, take one of his. The golum in your base tbh pwned you and thus slowed your creeping and ups ultimately. If he does it once, just build in another spot, use a zerk, or use 1-2 laborers to distract him. I think your main problem in this rep was your micro. Overall army and battle micro was fine but the little things such as when you rushed, try to make sure your uruks are put in front a decent distance to take fire off your zerks and your heroes died far too often. Overall, a great performance and good judgment late game.

How to Improve

  • Be aggressive. Early-mid game, you were kind of passive and allowed Gamroth to creep and didn't make the best of your base rush.
  • PP usage. Palantir still doesn't change the fact of what he has and this kind of crippled you as you didn't get rain untill the end of the first battle.
  • Micro. Uruks take brunt in rush, split zerks up, towers should be #1 target, golum, hero micro, and Balrog micro.
  • Formation use was off sometimes (Loose uruks)
  • Creeping, 3-4 zerks or some quicker bladed uruks will do. (Again, golum imo was a large cause of this)
  • Unit mixing. Only thing you were missing was some siege to keep his siege busy.

Gamroth - Mordor

You played a very aggressive start/strat but almost too risky imo. Try sneaking in a slaughterhouse at least before your third pit. Good job of harrasing him, defending, and creeping. Great start. Try to get catas before WK though because with rain, his LD isn't effective and he isn't exactly a one beast army. Earlier catas would've done you better imo and 1-2 wandering trolls could've compensated for MC for a short time until your WK does come. You also probably wouldn't of been forced to demo your troll cage to buy another siegeworks if you went catas before WK. Imo, I think it would be a little more beneficial if you spent some of your combo money and put it into more trolls and catas. Good unit mixing but maybe army balance was a little off. Generally good judgment and amazing performance.

How to Improve

  • Consider different BO's early game (safer). Also consider catas before WK. Catas = counter to rain.
  • Army balance. Push more resources into trolls and catas rather than combos (3-4 combos will do). Nice unit mixing though.
  • Great micro but lose your WK and Nazgul that one incident.
  • For the most part, good judgment. Understandable it's hard to tell sometimes when rain is over due to graphics errors. Sometimes could've made better use of your Balrog.

Overall Rating: 7

Oh and one more thing, dont forget that when promoting a replay to silver to edit the topic title so that it only contains the players names without a [R] or [Review] etc
