Battle for Middle Earth

Not the greatest play, i missed running gandalf away in fairly early battle and that cost me big. He thought he had won and had even said gg. Then on an outpost he over looked i got gandi. Can an old guy hold off big rohan army with only random gondor summons to help and the denethor sisters?

Might be possible rotw for entertainment, just not one to learn micro or super origianal strats from.

PRO's:
+ Good early map control
+ 1st Cavalry batallion earlier than Rohan
+ Started with a blacksmith for future upgraded knights
+ Only one blacksmith inside the castle --> fast expansion farms outside
+ Fast forged blades
+/- The 2nd discussion with a cave troll... luring him into your castle seemed to happened accidently, but of course
you had the well, so
+ Attacking the ent moot with Gandalfs lightning sword instead of cav
+ Faramir to keep the ents at bay (more or less)
+ !!! Wonderful comeback !!! (have to say that i thought you would give up now)... Using Gandalf to rebuild a small base and econ while knocking back Rohans attemps to finish you off...
+ Nearly perfect use of Gandalfs powers, nice 'duel' with eomer, who was waiting for his execution (why?)
+ Eagles just in time, they saved your ass... (and killed Gimli)
+ Nice use of the elves, they killed all rohan cav at the second outpost and then advanced to reclaim most free farm locations... (including one troll cave guarded settlement)
+ Gandalf crushing the Rohan castles gate with only ONE lightning sword use!!! (can understand why this is ****ing people off slightly) but nonetheless good use of this power...
CON's:
- Nearly lost one batallion of cavalry on a cave troll
- Swordsmen waiting in the northern forest instead of claiming Rohan territory
- Not destroying the ent moot costs you your castle (you should have ignored the attacking ents for you were not able
to do much damage to them. Instead of that you should have destroyed their source...)

PRO's:
+ Good use of the first cav bat to go after Gondors econ instead of getting head on their cav
+ Nice fast Theoden who really made the difference at the first clash of cavalry (even against forged blades)
+ Even faster Eomer further enhancing leadership boni
+ Good mid game map control
+ Ent moot at that location, perfect... even an early attack would have woken them up
+ Constantly pounding on Gondors Citadel to prevent Gandalf's rebirth
+ Constantly building ents kept Gondor under pressure... an destroying their well further adds up to that...
+ Good decission to hunt Gandalf with only one unit of cavalry and detaching the other unit to destroy the outpost
+ Nice late game herassment of Gondors (undefended) second outpost
+ Horse archers to counter Gandalf and eagles
+/- Good idea to destroy Gondors northern outpost but horse archers were slightly wrong for this task... rohirrim with spears would have done this way faster...

CON's:
- Two farms inside the castle --> had to wait for one farm or another outside
- Making the same cave troll mistake as the Gondor cav Lost all but one rider...
- No attempt to get even more resources by having one unit of whatever (like one peasant unit) claiming the rest of the map and destroying Gondors last remote farm
- Letting Gondor destroy the ent moot with one of your ents standing right next to the moot 'considering the councils decision'
- The resources from the unclaimed three farm locations would have helped you alot, as Gondor lived only by Gandalf and summoned elves/eagles at this time... a little more herassment would have won you the game, imho

This was a really exciting and enjoyable replay with more than one situation in what i though it was over...
What makes this replay outstanding is the wonderful comeback of Gondor after Epic|Perfection lost anything except Gandalf who was revived seconds before the citadel of the southern outpost collapsed...
Even after Gandalf managed to rebuild a small econ it was nearly obvious that Rohan would win this game.
There were some mistakes on both sides, but both players showed a really good level of skill.
This one is really worth watching and heavily recommended!

Maybe this could be ROTW? (Any RR could check this?)

You got the marketplace too fast. Should've gotten the HA instead so your knights could've crushed his unupgraded rohirrims early game
you left your gandalf hanging while 1 ent and 2 upgraded rohirrims were attacking him.
you built a tower to kill the troll when he ran into your castle. You should've just moved your knights around the castle. The citadel would've killed it.

should've maxed out the CP with rohirrim and rohirrim archers and finished him off. Instead you got the trio
Late Rohirim archers. You need them to takeout the troll lairs to rank up Theoden asap
didn't have any units on top of the castle gate.
