Battle for Middle Earth

Ok, so this is my first ever Gondor game. Hooked up with Platy to try FoL for a change.
Did some horribly horse micro, lost to many rangers to easily and dident have a clue what to do and what to build tbh.
Tryed to do that "Faramir infront of Troll Cage" thing that DivA|Soul did, but couldent pull it off realy.

Anyway, Gondor was fun to play, and I think I will give them a real go, so I would love some feed back on my game plan and all the littel things i need to think about when playing Gondor (like not run in to rhuns etc ).

I were extremely cahsfloating in the end . your harasment was steady and swift, I had hordes of orcs chasing everywhere, never seem to accomplish anything. I rly tought i were done for.

Cashfloating, yeah i did that to. At one point, I had like 10k and dident know what to buy
Think my biggest mistake was that i were to passive. Should have used my rangers more aggresiv asap, and of course I cant afford to lose my knights like that.

But its easy to say what you should have done after the game is played. Not to forgett that you are against an opponent, and if he plays good, you will make misstakes and lose, so

Starting Strat: Orc Spam >> Haradrim >> Trolls >> Orc Combo >> Siege >> Nazgul >> Mumakil.

PP: Eye >> Land >> Industry >> Darkness >> Balrog

Good Points

Used Gollum Well To Harass Soilders.
Used Troll with tree to own Faramir and Knights.
Microd Trolls Ok - "made them run when in danger"
Cat Micro Was Good Ownd alot of Rangers with it.
Used Nazgul well - Love seeing Nazgul doing there thing.

Bad Points

Lost Haradrim Palace at start - If watching you might have saved it.
More Harassment - you seem to stay on your side at the start of the game
Cage was a bit late - you should have up sooner to get rid of Knights.
Ran troll Into His Base
Let a Lonely Ranger Kill your troll.

A few simple mistakes becuase he wasnt payin attention or was busy else where. Micro with cats was good saved you the game. Also was a great combak by Mordor thought he was dead tbh.

Good Points

Nice Starting Harrasment
Used Pippin well
Took Lairs Out Early
Used Faramir well
Got those Archers Our Early to counter Trolls
Combined Rangers = Ownage

Bad Points

Lost Poor Pippin.
Lost alot Of Hero important ones too.
Micro Needs Improving.
Let Mordor Build up and some how take MC when you where harrassing good.
Poor Horse Micro Keeped Running into Men Of Rhun.

Played Good early but made a few mistakes and somehow the game turned around. Sad to see somany of your heros die accept for when gandie died I laughed. Good Game if only you had a good Mid and Late Game.

Realy need to work on keeping the heros alive and to micro the knights
But then my Gondor is patetich so
Was expecting a rating arond 1-2 for this, so im very happy

sleep.gif More Harassment - you seem to stay on your side at the start of the game.

Can you explain me how to do this, its extremely hard nowadays to harass with mordor, you need all orcs in defence you can get id say. Trolls could do, but thats not early

Think it goes hand in hand with your bad early game, because you did have a pretty bad start.
I think mordor starting units should be abel to defend from soldiers + pip, and then you can go on the offence.

Thats why i dont personally do the palace start, witch i think you did in this one? I got nothern mill down + your palace when you were creeping middle lair. That bought me the time to get knights out before you could be any major threat to my farms with neither a palac or a pit up and running.

But in all, a GG.
Next time we do the opposit. Think your Gondor is a bit better then mine, so it might be a better game as well if i go Mordor and you Gondor
