Strategy

pit + mills start > 2 uruks, 2 crossbows > pike-spam > upgrades > Lurtz > wargs > combo's > seige > saruman

Tops

• Extra labourers
• Got mapcontrol thanks to pike-spam
• Kept harassing during opponents base-raids
• Warg micro was good, flanking and outmicroing TG's - do remember to retreat your wargs in-time
• Ballrog usage, summoned him under opponents army almost took down the gondor castle completely

Tips

• When you see horses, first secure your creeping crossbows with pikes. You lost them and that ruined your creeping (1/6)
• Work on timing with pike-formations, they often got trampled by horses
• You weren't prepared for the HS rush. If you suspect one, build more towers and put some pikes around your base
• Scout better, know what your enemy is doing. You didn't expect the second raid at all and your army was on the other side of the map
• Lost Lurtz (x2) and Saruman
• Protect your seige better, some were free for the knights to destroy.

You played well and eventually won. I think that was because of the excellent harassment: you were always busy with taking down his farms and had mapcontrol most of the time. Micro was a bit less, Saruman and Lurtz were lost sometimes and the formation usage contained some errors, but the warg-micro was good. Also, work on the scouting, i don't think you knew where your opponent was at most of the time, knowing this can save you from alot of damage.

2 farms start > 2 soldier rush (far mill) > knights > HS/FB rush > faramir > combo's > trebuchets

Tops

• Killed creeping crossbows and therefor had almost all creeps (5/6)
• Well excuted HS rush, took a chunk out of the Isen castle
• Good eagle timing, used when there weren't much crossbows around

Tips

• Lost 2 horsebattalions, this kills your harassment for the rest of the game if you sold your stable. Be more carefull and remember: you don't HAVE to sell your stables
• Cash floated, i noticed this was usually during/after long battles that you stop producing so remember this
• AotD usage: you used them to destroy buildings but they are only effective at killing units. The second one could have been used to save your base. Also, most people forget that you can split the army up, might be a good idea.

You didn't play bad this game. Your harassment was a bit weak because you only had one horse but still you were trying to be as agressive as possible. The big battles were often in your favour because of the summons, but during the last battle you lost all your archers to the ballrog and had nothing to defend with. Still you made one last attack, with the summons again but it was to late. Take the tips and good luck next match.

Game comments

This game was quite entertaining. There were a lot of close fights (often decided by summons) and there were some surprising moments. I was never sure about who had the advantage.



I was thinking about making my first replay promotion but i have decided not to do that. Instead, this is a rotw contender.
