Played a game recently against a very good Rohan. It was a fairly good game but i don't think either of us played at our best. I am posting because after not playing for 6 months i wanna find out if the way i played is the best way 2 play the match up, thanks in advance.

I've watched this, I want to ask a few opinions about your strat before I review though. Imo skipping ups when you see early RA is better on larger maps, just means you struggle for map control on smaller maps like fordss.

I personally always go all ups -> gtw vs rohan, but especially vs RAs one of the two defense ups (armor or shields) are ALWAYS ESSENTIAL. (I didn't watch the replay so I don't know what he did)

Agreed, I've always preferd to go for armour, possibly backed up with a fast fara. And ofc selling stable before HS was a big mistake, whatever you choose to do. Stll skipping ups is a viable strat, you can usually maintain mc, but not so much on fords. Il write a proper review for this soon.

Overall with the game i was happy with the way i played because i wasnt sloppy with my knights, sometimes i play and am lazy like dont split my knights up enough and dont go out enough off host because of being afraid of loosing a bat. The reason i didnt go ups was really because i didnt need to, against a strat like he played i just avoid the horse archers and get as many farms down while i save for GtW. There is no point in having knights with ups just to chase the horses around when u can have gandy and take outposts. As for the stable removal as soon as i removed it i realised how dumb not having HS against RAs is. Thanks for the help velve

Lol ye, sorry its a bit slow coming. I was thinking as I opened this, hope he hasn't stolen my game for his first app. u0udiablo.gif laugh.gif wub.gif

@ spacebar, i understand why u skipped ups, just doubtfull if it was the best idea on a small map like fords. He didn't need to go for theo or ups, had he just ent rushed you would have been in trouble. You only ever had the time to kill farms, never to take them, before GTW which gave him a better eco.
