hi @ all,
this is skiptomylou again. i want to show you my gondor vs erasers (friend of mine) isen on fords. eraser is a imao pretty strong isen, which was ranked with his qm account in the tpo 300 i think....

my intention to let this game be reviewed is the huge variety of units on both sides, the knight harrasment through the pikes and last but not least, the 230 kb rep WITHOUT gandalf and stoneworker... banana.gif

ps: thanks to mr fuji, to give me the confidence to play this strategy 0wn3d.gif

Ok i saw it!

Im not a RR but i wanna leave here a special message:

This is one of the bravest matchs i ever seen. It reminded me Hero vs Ball (but completly different aproach adding trebs with fire and very good use of infantry.....very very offensive by Gondor Player).

A mistake here and there...but this is a must see. A lot of variety and courage by both players. Switching and adaptating...
develope and attack!

A good game, but I think that Gondor must lame vs the elite, but I do myself use hybrid when I see a chance vs the more experienced players:D

LordSithious(Gondor) vs |o0o|Eraser(Isengard)
Map: Fords of Isen

|o0o|Eraser(Isengard)

+Nice BO
+Creep
+GJ in protecting base during HS rush
+GJ getting pikes to protect your mills
+Map Control
+GJ getting all the upgrades, so that eagles weren't such a big threat

-You should use WC more often
-You allowed the first summon elves to get you good because you gave no heavy armor to your pikes, your lucky he didn't go EW to fast elves summon
-Selection in your PP was not great, you got palantir and industry and rain, when facing gondor i suggest WC-TL-Fuel-Balrog
-Your decision in getting Lurtz that early wasn't great, he was useless really, cuz knight have HS
-No towers in your base, but you did have rank 3 furnaces

Summary: You played well tbh, you were able to gain MC but gondor had trebs/infantry/knights. IMO theres not much you can do against that. Only thing you maybe could've done is not allow him to get trebs and after you get HA and FB destroy armory and go with a fast ram rush, or fast ladder rush with 4 FU uruks, gg

LordSithious(Gondor)

+Nice BO
+Used Pip to get settlements, he's pretty useless against uruks
+Nice harassment throughout the whole game
+Creep
+Nice selection of PPs, but i would suggest to get elven summon before you get heal, cuz when the elves come out they will kill a good amount of pikes, allowing you to get heal faster
+Nice treb/soldier usage
+Taking map control in late game
+You won

-You didn't use your heal when you should've and you could've
-Lost some horses with bad micro/ there wasn't really a lot of bad micro early, but late game you did a horrible job in protecting you trebs and many of them were destroyed
-I think you kept using normal infantry too long, and converted to tower guards a little late
-When you made outpost getting Stable, Workshop, and Barracks wasn't such a great idea

Summary: You played a nice solid game, with a good strat. Only thing is your micro isn't so good. Also try to heal more often, cuz it would've saved a lot of your knights, anyways you won gg

I give this game: 6/10
ROTW Contender

Very cool game. I like to see an aggressive gondor, and that treb strat was very interesting. Very risky using trebs, but they were handled well. The main thing I thought about was the risky use of knights during the game. They were almost always in their attack mode, and when running through the rank 3 furnaces, they took uneccessary damage. I personally only switch to attack mode when attacking a building, or when I want to take out archers and uruks as fast as possible. It was painfull to watch that rank 5 squad of knights die in the begining... those guys killed so many warg lairs to get to that level, and they were wasted due to overconfidence in their melle attack against pikes. I know that the pikes were un-upgraded when first engaged, but they should not have been attacked there, as there was a group of upgraded pikes close by anyway.
Better micro and care of horses could have seen this game end quite a bit sooner.

Isen: somewhat bad idea using rain, since Gondor wasn't using any leadership... but ... well, Isen didn't really have many lumbermills, so fuel the fires wouldn't have helped all that much. As the replay review said, warchant should have been used quite a bit more. Isen should have been more agressive with pikes around the map and tried to get back map control. No towers in the base was odd, but I understand that some players don't want those towers there for easy power points.

Neat game to watch. I noticed the reviewer said that this would be a replay of the week contender... so I think my game is gonna get a run for it's money!
