Battle for Middle Earth

Here's a nice QM gondor mirror I played yesterday. I wouldn't expect an awesome rating on review but seeing as I haven't posted anything in a while this is a pretty good game. Enjoy!

Okay Thrandy I’m going to be really picky so prepare yourself! first off, DON’T MAKE FARAMEIR SO EARLY Ok? Lol. Once again the bo for fast grades is 3 knights to ups to hs/gandy no Farameir. Don’t make Farameir until enemy Gandalf comes out. You saw for yourself Farameir didn’t do crap. If you had gone ahead and made ups you could of have forged blades much, much faster. After forged blades you tried to go for Gandalf instead of going for heavy armor to. This failed miserably and so you were forced to get heavy armor anyway. Moving on, as far as bad build spot management. Your statues were late and when you made them you destroyed two bs and rebuild a bs instead of making one of the statues: S you also only had a 5 bs while purchasing grades. In addition, your knight management was far from perfect. You constantly chased enemy forces with excessive force, and did things like kill farms with groups of 2 knights+knights+fara, late game you sent all 3 knights to reclaim a farm ect. Never send more knights then you need to do the task! You also had a bit of an obsession with your well. Sure its good to have full health knights but sometimes its better to destroy all your opponents farms lol. Late game you had some cash floating where you didn’t buy hs for some reason even though you had tons of cash and had purchased them at stable. And then when you got “combos” you didn’t combo them and sent them to the other Gondor’s base uncombo’d and unupgraded. You should have been combo’ing and upgrading them as they came out. You also had a tiny bit of bad Gandalf micro. you lost him the first time which was stupid, you should of run him away. Then the second time you killed the enemy Gandalf, he should of killed you instead. Also, in several engagements you didn’t use lightning sword for some reason after you used other powers. But, other than these things was a gg from you, showing all the necessities of a pro.

The little things killed you man. in the beginning, the other Gondor’s starting path with his soldiers was better imo. Then you had some cash floating going on where you were buying 2 bs at once, and you just bought two knights straight of instead of alternating the two which meant that you had a much worse econ then the other Gondor. As far as bo, if your going for fast grades, go 1 farm, 1 bs in base to start, not just 1 bs. Then go for 3 knights to heavy armor to forged blades. Then its up to you whether you even want to buy hs before gandy. You don’t want to demo stable if you do this strat! above and beyond that, your Gandalf micro was poor both times you lost him. the second time you should of easily killed the other Gondor’s Gandalf. Basically, your start killed you and you just couldn’t come back.

Game summery

in early-mid game mewithoutyou took a big econ advantage by alternating cav and bs and not cash floating, While Iearntoplay cash floated some and didn’t alternate. Creeping turned out even. Then both side went for ups and the game swung from one side to the other three times. Then Gandalf comes out for both sides, they fight a bit and mewithoutyou comes out the clear winner with total mc. he builds combos and trebs and its gg. I would defiantly recommend that both players watch this silver rep as in it Gerrard perfectly demonstrates how to use a fast up strat on this same map.

nice review 1 question .. how come the screen shots are in full detail i play in low detail online?

All I have to do is put my comp on ultra high detail while I'm taking the ss's and they come out ultra-high detail. dosn't matter what it was played in (no I don't play ultra high detail online, I just watch reps in it)
