Cave Trolls: Throwing Goblins

Today we will be taking a look at the throw goblin ability of Cave Trolls, some statistics and how best to utilize it in game.

Statistics:


Damage: 250. Consider rock damage is also 250.
Yet, this value is actually, most of the times, irrelevant. This is only of the few warheads in-game that can deal damage twice, or triple.
Range: 500
Without this high-ass value, the ability would be probably useless. This value is literally the same as Treebeards rock throw, while Troll rock throwing is 250 .

Changes of 1.09:

-No longer affects allies.
-Damage against structures halved.
-Wider area of damage. 18 radius from 12, on it's target. Now can be useful vs armies.

New intrinsically to 1.09 features:



TERROR:



-In a radius of 24 , and during 5 seconds , enemies will be freaked *** out and start running like cowards.
-It will affect any infantry or monster , except Treebeard, Ents, and Mumakils.

A hotkey that doesn't conflict with other abilities!(non-english-only) :


-1.09 has ensured to make the hotkey functional in most of the language versions of the game. For example; in spanish it used to conflict with the grab-tree ability, being a totally useless hotkey. Now, Spanish will use, instead, the key U

Most effective uses


What makes this ability exceptional is the ability to destroy ANY tower.

It is specially curious the fact that 1.09 has halved it's damage vs structures, yet, it still one-hitting towers. Other structures with LESS health points, like farms, wouldn't probably go down. EA or us have not developed any intentional particular bonus against towers or something. So we can consider it a glitch, where the high geometry of the towers causes the projectile goblin to deal damage more than once. But... do we care?

Conclusion:


Althought this underestimated ability requires a significant amount of focus, one-hit a tower in such situation is the most over-powered thing that can be done to counter it. Way effectiver than a Treebeard or a Mountain Giant rock itself.
Obviusly it can also be applied to take down fortresses! But 1.09 intentionally reduced it's damage vs buildings thinking about the poor fortresses. However, this can still be useful to finish a really damaged one.
