Team games often require a very different approach than that of 1v1 games. The goal is not simply to beat the opponent opposite you, as it is in a 1v1. In a 2v2, you must offset your ally's weaknesses with your faction's strengths while working together to maximize your advantages over those of your opponents. You must also attempt to exploit the weaknesses of the opponents' factions, especially if they are shared by both opponents. When the match is all said and done, the match-ups matter less than being able to work within the framework of your team.

Battle Test Patch Complete Changelog



General Changes:
  1. All heavy-armor units now take 15% damage from logical-fire damage.
  2. Hobbit Sheriffs are now more vulnerable to trample (75/45% from 30/20%) and cavalry (140/100% from 100/40%); sword attack now is of the 'cavalry' damage type.
  3. Wildmen Summon reduced to 3 hordes (from 4).
  4. Some mid-game heroes (Eomer, Faramir, King Dain, and Sharku) now cost 1500 resosurces (was 2000).
  5. All unarmored pikes are now 25% less vulnerable to siege.
  6. Resource limiter with 6 resource buildings reduced to -10% (from -15%).
  7. Transport Ships' speed has been increased (120 from 70).
  8. All pike units now take 240% from slash, except for Tower Guards and Mithlond Sentries (still 200%).
  9. All artillery units' bombard mode have 1200 range, 12s reload time, and a 75% damage falloff.
  10. All first tier archers, except for Lorien Archers, now have a 25% pierce bonus vs fliers.
Men of the West Changes:
  1. Gondor Soldier damage is now 33/75 (from 40/90).
  2. Aragorn's Athelas ablility now heals 1000 hitpoints (from 2000); Blademaster's +50% bonus vs structures has been removed.
  3. Boromir's Horn of Gondor fear duration reduced to 10s (from 15s); his hero knockdown chance has been reduced to 15% (from 25%).
  4. Faramir's level-up has been improved (50/100/150/280/420/540/690/840/990 from 60/120/180/370/560/750/900/1050/1200).
  5. Ivory Tower's recharge time now 6m (from 2.5m).
Elves Changes:
  1. Giant Eagle now takes 45% from pierce, 55% from cavalry-ranged (from 20%), has 3400 health (from 4000), has a buildtime of 2m 30s (from 1m), has a summon duration of 40s (from 2m), and has a damage penalty of -70% against towers.
  2. Farsight's power reload time has been reduced to 1m 40s (from 3m).
  3. Elrond's speed is now 70 (from 65); Elven Grace's heal amount has been increased to 1000 (from 600) and it now affects heroes and infantry next to Elrond.
Dwarves Changes:
  1. Dwarven Guardian's pierce resistance has been reduced (83/35% from 75/30%); Siege Hammer's damage has been reduced to 56 (from 80).
  2. Gimli's Slayer attack damage against forts has been halved.
Isengard Changes:
  1. Palantir's vision duration is now 40s (from 2m).
  2. Dragon Strike's damage has been reduced to 7300 (from 9000).
  3. Warg Rider's upgraded weapon bonus against structures has been reduced to +50% (from +100%).
  4. Saruman's hitpoints have been reduced to 2000 (from 3000) and Fireball's logical-fire radius has been reduced to 30 (from 40).
  5. Furnace hitpoints have increased to 980 (from 750).
Mordor Changes:
  1. Horde bonus now works with 3 hordes (from 5) with a check radius of 250 (from 160) and a damage bonus of +33% (from +55%). It now affects Haradrim Lancers as well.
  2. The cost of a Mumakil has been reduced to 1500 (from 1800).
  3. Nazgul crush deceleration percentage is now 5 (from 4) and its minimum crushing velocity is now 56 (from 58). Mount and dismount toggling now takes 4s (from 1.4s).
  4. Corsair Fire Bomb's double damage bonus against structures has been removed and its fire decay is now 23 (from 16).
  5. Gorgoroth Spire's range is now 1200 (from 2000), its damage type is now only fire (from siege+fire), and its recharge time is now 7m (from 5m).
  6. The Witch-king's hitpoints has been reduced to 6700 (from 8000), his healing rate is now 32 health/s (from 25 health/s), and his mounted armor is now 20% stronger against all damage types.
  7. Unarmored Haradrim Archers now take 80% pierce (from 100%); Barbed Arrow's reload time is now 4s (from 6s).
  8. Easterling's vulnerability to Uruk is increased (100% from 50%).
Goblins Changes:
  1. Goblin Warrior's experience award reduced to 1, specialist armor is 47/17% (from 50/20%), and pierce is 125/10% (from 125/30%).
  2. Goblin Archer's speed is 55 (from 45), base attack range is 330 (from 275), pierce damage is 26 (from 20), and flame damage is 30 (from 20).
Create-A-Hero Changes:
  1. Armor attribute points has been reduced to 5% (1 point) through 52%(20 points).
  2. Base health has been reduced to 800 (from 2300) and base damage to 50.
  3. Vision multiplier now ranges from 0.25 (lvl1) to 8.00 (lvl 20).
  4. Wizard Blast's damage has been increased to 200/300/500 (from 80/150/250).
  5. Word of Poultry's range has increased to 100/150 (from 50/100) and its recharge time has been reduced to 180 seconds (from 240 seconds).
  6. Blademaster's bonus is now 150% damage and 25% armor (from 200% damage, 50% armor).
  7. Berserker/Battle Rage armor bonus has been reduced to 25/30/35/40 (from 50/45/40/35), damage multiplier to 125/150/175/200% (from 150/175/200/225%), speed has been increased to 120/140/160/180%, and recharge time to 120 seconds (from 180).
  8. Tornado's lifetime has been reduced to 7s/14s/21s (from 10s/20s/30s).
  9. Train Allies' recharge time has been reduced to 60s (from 240s).
  10. Elendil and Screech have had their power recharge times reduced to 120s (from 180s).
  11. Wizard/archer True Sight's power recharge time has been reduced to 30s (from 60s).
  12. Word of Power's recharge time has been reduced to 270s (from 360s).
  13. Curse Enemy's recharge time has been decreased to 60s (from 300s).
  14. Oil Fire's recharge time has been reduced to 180/150/120 (from 180/180/180).
  15. Coerce's power recharge time has increased to 240s (from 60s).
  16. Starlight's recharge time has increased to 240s (from 180s).
  17. Heroic Charge's recharge time has increased to 180s (from 60s).
  18. Howl of Rage's armor bonus has changed to 20/40/60 (from 75/50/25).
  19. Troll class's spendable points have decreased to 15 (from 25) and now gets area-of-effect and knockback by default.
  20. Wizard class's spendable points have been increased to 30 (from 25) and its vision base attribute has been enhanced by 5.
  21. Selfheal now heals only 1/20th(lvl1) to 1/10th(lvl2) of the hitpoints and its recharge time has been reduced to 5 seconds.
  22. Earthshaker's recharge time has increased to 120s (from 60s).
  23. Summon Reinforcements' timer has been reduced to 180s for heroes of the West.
  24. Archer Specialization now adds a small area-of-effect damage at level 4.
  25. Assassin's damage has been reduced to 1000/2000/3000/4000 (from 2000-10000).
  26. Custom heroes now gain 2 additional damage per level (4 on level 10), 30 additional health on levels 2 and 3, 40 health on level 4, and 50 health on levels 5 through 10.
  27. Custom heroes' leveling has been changed to 100/300/500/700/900/1100/1300/1500/1700 (from 100/200/300/400/500/700/900/1100/1400).
Additional Changes:
  1. Added Conquest Mode support and maps. Read the "conquest-readme.txt" file for instructions.
  2. Multiple AI improvements and bug fixes: it should now mix units better, use more special abilities, and get upgrades.
Bug Fixes:
  1. Fixed the Shelob Speed bug (now properly 80).
  2. Fixed the bug where Mountain Giants wouldn't heal at level 2.
  3. The Fortress Fire Drake not healing is now fixed.
  4. Gorkil's attack exploit is now fixed.
  5. Rohirrim's splash attack no longer damages friendly units.
  6. Summoned Rangers no longer cost command points.
  7. Fixed Dwarven and Elven statues' fear resistance leadership, which now properly works against terror.
  8. Fixed Porter's vulnerability to logical-fire.
  9. Gorkil's attack damage delay has been fixed.
  10. The Fire Drake's Inferno radius has been fixed.
  11. Fixed the bug that made Arwen and Glorfindel spawn dismounted.
  12. Inn and Signal Fire armor is now fixed; now properly "structurearmor".
  13. Outer Wall Hubs are now able to be built anywhere.
  14. Fixed the vision bug on all hold ground stances.
  15. Fixed Warchant's leadership graphics (now properly a solid glow instead of hollow).
  16. Fixed Men of the West's statue and Gorkil's leadership graphics (now properly spark instead of solid).
  17. Fixed King Dain's fear resistance leadership, which now properly works against terror.
  18. Barbed Arrow's multi-selection button is now fixed.
  19. Fixed the reliability of Haradrim Archer's Barbed Arrows.
  20. Lorien Warrior's weapon upgrades are now fixed.
  21. Stopped the Wildmen torch upgrade from killing allied units.
  22. All flyers' logical-fire vulnerability bugs have been fixed.
  23. Tom Bombadil leadership bug has been fixed.
  24. Fixed ranged seige weapons' hold ground stance--now properly attacks but doesn't move.
  25. Fixed Wormtongue's speed--now properly at 62 instead of 55.
  26. Fixed Men of the West's bannermen from being trampled by cavalry.
  27. Fixed Outpost's armor; now properly "fortressarmor".
  28. Fixed summoned Barrow Wights giving experience bug.
  29. Fixed the Ranger Longshot ability--no longer locks their normal attack.
  30. Fixed map list to include "Tolfalas" and "Dark Island".
  31. Fixed Troll lair treasure chests from being located in inaccessible locations in Fords of Isen II.
  32. Mordor Barricade's fire damage bug against structures is now fixed.
  33. Battlewagon upgrades no longer shoot from inside a Mine.
  34. Elven and Dwarven Wall Hub expansion armor is now fixed--now properly "fortressexpansionarmor".
  35. Fixed hero spell damage bonuses against Drogoth.
  36. All hero revive values are now fixed.
  37. Mirkwood Archer attack rate bug when equipped with Silverthorn Arrows is now fixed.
  38. Cave Trolls now properly heal at level 4.
  39. Palantir pictures for Lorien Warriors and Peasants are now fixed.
  40. Mordor Barricade expansion's lack of armor is now fixed--now properly "FortressExpansionArmor".
  41. Lorien Warrior's multiple missing voice events are now fixed.
  42. Armored Easterling siege vulnerability is now fixed (now properly 50% instead of 100%).
  43. Create-a-Hero's Glorious Charge being able to affect infantry units now fixed.
  44. Men of the West's Create-a-Hero spendable points are now fixed--now properly 28 instead of 30.
  45. Level 2 Selfheal having a healing radius is now fixed.
  46. Shelob's regeneration rate is fixed--now properly at 30/s (instead of 50/s).
  47. Fixed bug that allowed hero's poison abilities to work on the Eagle.
  48. Saruman and Gandalf's experience gain rates and buildtimes are fixed.
  49. Removed Legolas's voice calling Aragorn and Gimli for help when he was about to die.
  50. Fixed Aragorn's default attack radius.
  51. Unmounted Nazgul firing duration exploit is now fixed.
  52. The bug where Wildmen were missing the upgrade buttons is now removed.
  53. Men of the West's Statues and Gorkil's Skull Totem no longer have to be destroyed to win a game.
  54. Fixed the bug that made Mordor Taverns not able to be sold before reaching level 3.
  55. Corsair Fire Bomb double-attack exploit is now fixed.
  56. Pike units' porcupine formation crush revenge damage has been fixed.
  57. Gloin's revive cost has been fixed (now properly 330 from 30).
  58. Thranduil's Deadeye exploit is now fixed.
