Well, in the previous gob v mordor with Turgon, I did not really respect his trolls enough and it has backfired as they are a substitute to heroes that gives you better transition from the early into the midgame. I think that you need to react with a fine zoning using the goblin archers and spreading your opponents forces very thin via your own harrasment. Also I suppose getting a shelob would not be a bad idea at all, but if you survive long enough then I think Drogoth is basically a gg as your opponent has spent quite a decent amount of money on trolls instead of actual heroes.
ye true... drogoth is gg then... but i played not so smart here... trolls are not so expensive to build with mordor and industry! i played poor concerning my unit mix..
but its defo a way to counter the troll gameplay! wp mate:)
A lot different from the first game. Randoms harassment was very nice keeping Turgon checked. The trolls that eventually showed up weren't that effective due to Random having a good unit mix out already and more map control.
I expected some mysterious over-the-top venomous sting strategy to counter trolls. Disappointed xD What's the purpose of those stings anyway, isn't that like the second most useless upgrade after barbed arrows?
barbed arrows are pretty much useless in 1.08. 60 sec cd? nah. Even with 6 sec cd like in 1.06 they aren't all that great, because there is a bug so you have to select each battalion and use spell. I'd say a 25s or so would be good. And ye poison sacks suck too.
