Battle for Middle Earth 2 1.06

[ROTW] [Review]Fantastic game Harry and I vs. some old faces

#1Gage  Feb 3 2008, 02:37 AM -
Great great game. Probably one of the better 1.06 replays as the players we faced used the normal tactics for 1.06 and Harry and I used some ajusted BTP/1.06 tactics!! Entertaining and fun, with some good skill. Well with the watch.

Mordor+Motw vs. Mordor+Motw
Patch:1.06
Map:Udun

Overview

A thrilling game with constant exhange of units from base to base. Unforunately, the dominating team quit in the end and robbed us of a potentially very gg

Mordor(IamTheBest1993)

Ok, since im doing individual talks here im gonna keep it brief. 1. needed pikes faster to relieve pressure off the naz(minor thing tho) 2. a mumakil would've been quite helpful...at least before mordor got WK. Getting the fellbeast wasnt too wise after you say his high lvl MoS. His beam utterly destroys fellbeasts so be careful. I definately thought you could've been more aggressive, because motw had a pretty fair economy whole game..he just didnt use it properly. And above all, you needed upgrades bad. Now i cant qutie rememebr if you got them in the end, but i know for most of the game you didn't have them...which is a no no. sad.gif

Areas To Improve
  • Get mumakil vs motw..owns boromir and aragorn
  • Needed to be more aggressive
  • Always Always get upgrades mid/late game
Motw(Teriyakichicken)

Well lets see here...those rangers you made were almost useless. Mordor's party team from the underworld ate them up with ease. If you see that they arent serving you well..dont upgrade them with fire dry.gif I think calvary would've been a better choice. Upgraded and alongside your mounted hero team...it would've served you quite well. I also think you could've been more aggressive like your ally. The mordor on your side was pumping in big cash..its why he managed to get almost every hero for mordor...so watch that for the future. Also i recall your hero mico being a little lop sided, so be careful of that too. (mounted hero micro was decent)

Areas To Improve
  • Remember other more viable options for different situations. (mordor had no pikes..couldve gone cav)
  • Need to be more aggressive
  • Remember to be careful with pricy heros. If your going to attack, make it count
Mordor (Arkins)

Great work here. Your mounted hero micro was pristine and unit choices were good for the most part. But hoenstly im disappointed that you didnt at least win your side. If you made mumakil, you would destroyed motw swiftly despite his rangers. With all the heros you had..the rangers would've been no problem. Also id just like to add that warchant isnt the best power to start with. Best to start with eye or land, then skip warchant and head closer to getting the balrog. But overall you played well. A shame you quit though eyebrow.gif

Areas To Improve
  • Use mumakil to deliver the final blow to motw
  • remember more potent power paths/options
  • Never quit when you clearly could've killed at least one of the 2 (!!!)
Motw (LordOfAllNoobs)

Im gonna spare you some criticism but im gonan give you a few pointers. Land>rally call...always always start with land when your motw. You desperately needed eomer or at least theo to accompany your calvary. You needed to also be more aggressive and save the catapults until you are truely ready to attack. And finally...upgrades...do not forget them. Its the only reason you were getting pummelled so often.. post-13661-1143531603.gif

Areas To Improve
  • Needed to accompany calvary with mounted heros for most effectiveness
  • Need to be more aggressive
  • Needed upgrades desperately
Overall Rating:5
Will promote to rotw

This is him

http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index...?showuser=73273

He is like one of the best all natural hero handlers you will see. He doesn't play too often anymore, but his micro with heroes and some units, is just incredible...and it's always off host too. His RoTW was for a game where he used Naz off host against System so well, that it basically made the game a RoTW.

He kind of....sucks in 1v1 but his 2v2 is just great!

Usually you dont review the most recent ones you start from the oldest ones. I have 2 replays posted here and one has been waiting for a review for 3 weeks. Nice favoratism tbh.

hey now..im not even an RR..any reviews i choose to do should be a blessing. I see one of them was reviewed by smokey now that i take a look. To be honest 2v2's are a burden to review..and your game didnt have review in the name so i kinda past it by. Sorry

for me i am better focused watching 1v1's

Well first off I want to thank you for reviewing this game so fast, I expecting it to be a while biggrin.gif.

Also, the Mums are a mistake in this game. I knew I was being out resourced, and I knew they would likely have a flying unit before I could, and on that big of a map....no just not going to happen. Plus, fire in 1.06 is seriously an insta-kill for Mums, and again MoTW could easily have had that at their fort, or more likely Mordor would with barracaide. Given the fact I was behind on the money it would have been a huge risk given the time and investment, it would not have been a good choice at all, likely would have finished me.

As for a fellbeast, that was a great move. It made sure that all his attacks had less corsairs/easterlings and more archers, which helped a ton. And even if he used the MoS evil eye on the fell, you we have needed something else there to finish off the fell still so the naz/mos couldn't just run around on their own anymore. In short I did it to keep him honest, and it totally worked smile.gif .

As for the Easterlings, well I really should have got them sooner...but once I decided not too, it was a done deal, and there was no going back due to the large size of the map....poor initial choice on my part.

Upgrades, lol. You know that game it seemed like very time I could get them something forced me not too lol. But I never have used ups for Mordor, and well I know they are good, so that is a fair point; I am willing to bet I still underestimate them.

Thank you again!
