[R] Good Game

Heres another game i would like reviewed. If i remember correctly, this game was fairly back and forth, but my enemy didnt manage to stop my expansion and after the typical war of attrition..it was over. I would say they were good players but they really underestimated the teamwork my partner and I had. But i would like to have this reviewed sometime soon. Thx

Review by: Mr. K

Starting positions:
|NFT|Kratos/|NFT|Urahara - North
KoN|Mithrandir/KoN|Verdo - South

Version: EA Patch 1.06

Overview:

In this game, there was some action through halfway-decent harassment and nice team unit-mixing. Other than those two, there’s not much else that’s noteworthy. Because of some lacked teamwork and some macro problems on NFT’s part, there wasn’t any serious momentum changes in their favor. KoN worked their way up by expansion and took out Kratos in not a lot of time. After this, it wasn’t long before they collectively washed over Urahara and won the game.

|NFT|Kratos/|NFT|Urahara (Dwarves/Isengard)

The play on this end of the map was all right, but still lacking in some critical places. What good I saw was you guys did try and harass enough and the team unit-mixing was decent. Beyond that, there were some critical problems. For one, you guys could’ve used a bit of a boost in teamwork. There were critical defense situations that you both had to fend off by yourselves disappointingly. You need to know that more teamwork gives you a much better edge on the offensive and defensive. Now, you, Kratos, need to better assess your situation in-game and come up with better ways to spend your resources. Buying Gloin was a bit of a mistake. Battlewagons, I think, would’ve served you better in the early to mid-game transition. Also, you, Urahara, need to change your aggressive priorities at times. Instead of using every unit to attack one opposing battalion, use enough force necessary and use the rest to harass. Now, the last problem I noticed between you too was the lacked knowledge of stances. Make sure you both visit that link I’ve provided to learn more about them.

Points of Improvement:
  • Stances (|NFT|Kratos/|NFT|Urahara): In order to use your units as best as possible in any circumstance, you must practice using various stances. For more help, visit: Ranger08's Stances/Formations Guide.
  • Aggressive Priority (|NFT|Urahara): Don’t preoccupy yourself with trying to take down enemy units all the time, instead, use some force to harass and deal damage where it counts.
  • Teamwork (|NFT|Kratos/|NFT|Urahara): Combining forces more often can deal tremendous damage to enemies offensively and can help repel enemies more easily in defense.
  • Early-Game Spending (|NFT|Kratos): Looking at the current situation, try to better weigh the possibilities and put your resources in a better place.
KoN|Mithrandir/KoN|Verdo (Goblins/Elves)

Overall, the teamwork was acceptable between you two. It could’ve been ever so slightly better, but it wasn’t as huge a deal. Anyways, harassment was consistent as was the army follow-up. I did notice some small problems though. For one, just make sure you’re remembering the proper stances, Mith. They’re critical for when the worst case scenario comes along. There were some random times you forgot to switch yours. As for you, Verdo, it happened a bit more a late-game but just make sure you’re keeping your units active. Command points do grow on trees in this game but there’s a limit, so take advantage of the points you have as best as you can.

Points of Improvement:
  • Stances (KoN|Mithrandir): Don’t forget to use proper stances respective to each combat situations so your units gain a small edge.
  • Idle Units (KoN|Verdo): Rather than having them take up command point space and resources, make sure all of your units are moving about and doing something.
Overall Rating: 4/10

um. ok. I had my title modified by an SM a while ago that was just like this so ive been copying that format. I also looked at a few of the recent replay posts and some just have a simple title with {review} in it if you wanted it reviewed. Since this is the case it would be advantageous to spread the word to those particular replay posts as well to better spread the "correct" way of posting a replay, but thank you for pointing it out in mine because i didn't realize it was a formatting error. My previous replay was more specifically formatted but I took a shorter form this time. You kind of seem offended so im sorry about any "incorrect" formatting within the title of the thread or replay, and I will better this the next time around.

-thx

For everyone who wants to post a replay - http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index...howtopic=233692 - the title is written in caps lock, that's not so hard to see.

Elfman, knock it off. I could get you about 10%-20% for your continuous trolling, eh?

CODE
Trolling:
- Continually trying to antagonize someone or a group of people

Instead of telling other people the rules, why don't you follow them yourself for a change?

Oh, and gallenv, calm down. It's just a replay title, nothing big.
