Battle for Middle Earth 2 1.06

ugh, double post. sorry.

lol just saying this now because I don't think many who watched the replay realize this. You all seem to be looking for some huge battle, or some nice way where we manage to beat back their armies; please, will one of you tell me how myself or elrol (well elrol might have) could have beaten even one of their separate armies?. You have to understand the literal suicide it would be for elrol or myself to pitch our units against the two. I mean pairs of boromir and gandalf make their army invincible to ours. You can say we could have used powers to supplement our attacks on their armies and heroes but remember they have powers too, as well as the fact that rangerspam + pikespam + boro and gandy will kill any army standing army in short work. It is one huge reason why I didn't bother trying to defend farms from his units and just delete. All I would do is feed him pp and waste units while he rebuilds his farms. Their standing armies where impervious to any attacks from us. I think even the two of us one one separate army would be a major disaster.

When an army is too strong (especially with the powers had) you have to avoid them or run around and harrass them. Kill the farms hurt their economy. Get it to where they have trouble rebuilding the individual units you kill as your running around. That is one reason why gandalf caused such a big problem. You are winning easily, you have a lot of money (obviously because you made a 5,000 hero), and then you spend a huge amount to get something, but when you spend that huge chunk of money and then realize you've lost 50-60% of your farms, your in a worse position than you were. Once the hero gets out you think hey, gandalf is going to make sure we win now, you realize he can't cover 5 places at one time and you can't rebuild your farms. Now your getting annoyed so you launch an attack thinking to cripple your opponents offensive abilities or at least his money. And you have less units defending. Your op army walks around and we burn the land as we run (delete farms) leaving nothing for him to kill all the while continuing to whittle down his farms. Finally he starts to spread units out to defend the farms instead of moving small armies around (note the 3-5 rangers now wondering around the map) and it seems to work for a minute. But then this is what the I've been waiting for. Now the strong army has overspread itself and you can pick off the units that you normally wouldn't be able to touch due to boro/gandy and army. In a matter of minutes a huge amount of rangers are destroyed. Now the elf army is an actual threat. Now they have to rush both gandys and boros to make sure the elf army doesn't do too much all the while hoping the goblins player can't make a sizeable comeback.

Eventually we get the tier powers they had ages ago and we expect a couple earthquakes at any minute. Now just to be honest, earthquake used would be gg so we start looking for a way to end the game. Oh we have eagles and wildmen! Oh otto's fort is wide open. Oh I just killed one builder and I'm right by his only other builder, hmm quickly eliminate player a? Yes!



All I'm trying to say is anyone watching the game and rationally thinking about the forces in play should not even think that a decisive battle could have been fought. We would be slaughtered if we wasted units in so careless a fashion. Now, if elrol had made heroes of his own (legolas, thranduil, etc) Then we could have fought battles. But as it was a pair of boro/gandys with large standing armies was suicide to fight against.

Sere thats not your testament .Was just a game and ended as it should be cuz of the reason that I caused.You are right in a point but if I were you I would spend my time to a better activity from commenting that much .I dont want to discourage you from writing though cuz you seem to be very productive .Are you going to become a writer?

Do I want to be a writer? No lol. I don't care about this site that much. If people used this site as it should be (the bfme2 section) then maybe I would care more. I only post on replays I'm in now . Though looking an inaccuracies in other's posts I might change that. I look at this site now because its funny to see what people write.

No this is just something written with hindsight bias as well as how I saw the game progressing while actually playing it. I'll admit I made it slightly dramatic and it looks stupid but all the same it is just how the game was lol. We couldn't fight you guys straight on or we would lose those units easily. I tried to keep harrassing and deleting with the twofold purpose of killing farms and getting the rangers separated for riders (the rider part came later, first it was to kill farms so when I died my score wouldn't be too bad) Those big posts up above us that I wrote are just the product of too much time on my hands.

Sere, my hope would be that you would have slowly reverse the situation by gnawing farms after farms, while expanding. and to see you reverse a game like i have seen you done tens of times, in ways that my reason woudnt believe. And i really do love when you do that

and testament could be replaced by written legacy i suppose

Lesson learned

I don't know how the 2 MOTW players ended up losing that after the start they had. Great job by Serenade hanging in there, in those circumstances it's very difficult to to do anything, but he did well. As for elves, excellent support, good game overall.

Double Gandalf is gay for so many reasons. Double Boro is gay as well. Actually Double Ara is gay, as, well. So any of the more popular MotW hero's are an insult to the opponent.
