GLA Guide on Scorched Earth

Playing on Scorched Earth is very cool. On this map the balance between GlA and China are almost equal and that will give GLA a very good chance to win the game match easier than on other maps. As i talked before on this map it contains many towers and its very wide and got small path for entering enemy base at the side and its pretty opened at the middle but it got in the middle 6 towers and two are placed middle of the map near your base and other two towers at the opposite side and then in the middle you find two other towns that got a bit more distance between each other.

1. GLA versus China



Oil Grabbing:

The most secure strategy on Scorched Earth is going for the oils. When you start the game you will notice that you base is placed in the middle and is far away from your primary and secondary supplies. It wouldn't be good to try to build dual supplies on the start because that would take to much time and you will lose the oils. So when going for the oils it's best if at the start you start building your first Barracks and then with your second Worker build your primary Supply Stash. We have to be build quickly Tunnels on the hills and oils, so we save the oils to us.




I built two Tunnels near the oils almost at both sides to close the entrance path to my base and I also built a Tunnel at my main supply dock near my Arms Dealer, so that will transport our unites faster to the location we want.

To do so, use the Build Order as follows:
Start with your first Worker building the Barracks and queue from in your Command Center 5 Workers. Immediatly, queue two Terrorists and two Rebels followed with the Capture Upgrade in your Barracks. Send your second Worker down or up. That depends on which side you plan to take over for the oils. Send Worker number 3 and 4 to that side you decided and build one Tunnel close to the emtpy bunker near the oils and one Tunnel close to the Building on the hill which you both garrison with the RPG Troopers that come out of the completed Tunnels. Watch out for enemy Gattling and Dragon Tanks, don't have your Rebels killed by them. In they're getting attacked while you capture the oils, it's the better option to rescue your infantry in a Tunnel or bunker even though that means you need to re-capture that construction again.
Then build some Scorpion Tanks and let them pop out of your Tunnel at the oils and kill the attacking Gattling and Dragon Tanks. When you took the oils, build quickly in your base a second Supply Stash and then make produce Scorpion Tanks combined with Toxin Trucks. Also go for one or two Technicals which you load with RPG Troopers and try to sneak into China's base by going for the area of his second supply dock and build a sneaky Tunnel, so you can immediatly invade his base by Scorpion Tanks, Toxin Truck and whatever else you've got.
In case you lose the oils, you better destroy them as soon as possible. Don't let China get them to have a money boost.



Dual Arms Dealer

Going dual Arms Dealer on Scorched Earth is one of the risky strategies but can be effective if you are really fast and do the strategy as it should be done on this map. Its pointless if you send your first two workers running that long distance at start and building dual supplies and then dual Arms dealer because that would take so much time and you will lose the game in the first 4- 5 min of the game. China would have already bunkered up one of the side and then he would have already garrisoned the bunkers at the oils and waiting for some more unites to secure the oils wile he takes them and then he would after taking the oils go for air and out spam you after he start taking the towers and that is 100% lose for GLA. So we have to do a strategy or build order here that makes us get very fast dual Arms Dealer and send tech cars at flank and kill the redguard before he garrison the buildings and in the same time starting to harass his supplies. This strategy can make china pretty slow if made right and you need some min before you can make many scorpions and toxin trucks(don't forget the scorpion upgrade) and kill the china player. the china player will start bunkering up the sides and you will start making terrorist and blow them up and china would be dead when he loses one of the flank.

To do so, use the Build Order as follows:
As I said we have to be fast with getting the dual Arms Dealer so I want you to do as following.
Start whit your first worker building direct beside your command center a supply and then from your main command center build 3 other workers and whit your second worker send him down to your primary supply and the third worker to your secondary supply and the last worker ready for building the arms dealer. When your supply has finishes, build fast two arms dealer and sell the supply and sell your command center and build at your primary and secondary supply depot two supplies. You will lose only 900 in money but you don't need here to build a bark so you will have maby 1500 cash left. Now your Arms Dealer will finnish building so select the tech upgrade from your General experience point and build two tech car and send on the flank heading to the oils to kill the red guard and infantry. when you kill them go and start attacking the supply trucks but before you come near the supplies i want you to hold Ctrl and force fire beside the supply and that will save you from killing your tech car because if he got mines around them that will kill the mines and you will be warned and you might now how big the mine field are now and go around it. Keep pressure him on all sides and whit mixed unites. when you got a barrack try to build tunnels and take more and more control of the map and build a palace for creating a German kell.
Destroy the oils whit scorpions and that will make china run out of cash and wont be able to spam as much as he really wanted.
A non spamming China is a dead China.





2. GLA versus GLA



Oil Grabbing:

This is very hard and I think it's one of the hardest match up to play on this map. Going wrong tactics in this match up might kill you direct. Most people would probably go a secure strat and that its taking the oil strategy but there are always people that likes to try new things or just are so good whit the army that they can adapt fast and make it whit the risky strat. The map is wide and got many entrance to your base to blow up your supplies or even your war factory. GLA got maby 3 strat on this map and one of those strat is called suicide strat but not played so much infact the only person i seen play it its oguz and that is going fast supply at start and creating dual barrack and spamming some terrorist and then make fast a arms dealer and getting out two tech cars and going direct to the GLA base and blow his dual supply or his arms dealer and then again blow up his supply and the the oils wont help him but you need 2 be really good 2 make it whit this strat and i consider it a lucky strat.
Now let us go back to the normal secure strategies.

To do so, use the Build Order as follows:
Build whit your primary worker a barrack at the start and whit your second worker send and create a primary supply. From your barrack send two or even three terrorist to the oils but send two terrorist to the side that you are planing to take fast and the third terrorist send him to the second oils to kill the tunnel that the enemy going to build there. The third worker send him to the side that you sent your two terrorist and your forth worker send him whit the the third terrorist. when your terrorist kills the enemy terrorist that is getting send build a tunnel fast and do the same at the other side. always make a tunnel at this spot so the enemy don't take those towers and makes a tunnel there and that will give you problems. Take the oils and then make your second supply and make more tunnels and try to take more control of the towers and make some terrorist and try to blow his supply of. If he went only one supply and you blow it then GLA will have big problems and maybe wont have money to build the supply again so he might be forced to sell his arms dealer to get the money. So always try to secure your supply as much as you can whit a tunnel there and build your arms dealer so it close the entrance to your worker. If you see a tech car coming to your Supply fast pop out some units and kill it. Its important that you always have some unites in your tunnels for emergency situations. Don't let the dark areas unexplored and always try to look around for sneak tech or sneak tunnels and keep your map awareness up. Most people have problem whit the concentration. Try to improve this strat after your needs and what should get buildt at starts.

Dual Arms Dealer

This strat can be effective on this map vs GLA. Most player will go a secure strat and they might only do one supply. Going dual Arms Dealers on this map can sometimes wins you the game in 4 - 5 minutes. A GLA player whit only one supply wont have a chance vs dual supply and dual Arms Dealer tech car rush. the only thing that might stop this strat is if GLA went dual supply and made 4 tunnels and went more control strat like garrisoned the most important towers and even the bunker at the oils.
Like i talked before its sometimes luck and sometimes more strategies and experience that wins you the game. Its very important about how you place your buildings and where you place your tunnels to save them. I always preferred to make my tunnels beside the towers but other might wants to have them a bit far away from the towers to save them from getting them destroyed if the enemy takes the tower beside the tunnel. But placing a tunnel beside the tower can sometimes be more effective vs scorpions. The RPG men will kill the scorpions and if a toxin car trying to "toxicate" (flame) them out then you only need to pop out two scorpions and shot at the toxin truck before it reaches the tower and then go back into the tunnel.


To do so, use the Build Order as follows:
Build Order for dual Arms Dealer is the same as against China.
Start whit your first worker building direct beside your command center a supply and then from your main command center build 3 other workers and whit your second worker send him down to your primary supply and the third worker to your secondary supply and the last worker make him ready for building a arms dealer. When your supply finished build fast two arms dealer and sell the supply and sell your command center and build at your primary and secondary supply depot two supplies. Send your first two tech car at the flank and kill the workers that planing to make a tunnel and kill the terrorist that he might be sending. Do the same at the flank and keep producing tech car and fast run to his base and overrun the workers that is collecting money. Kill his tech car and then kill his Arms Dealer and supplies. Now he is dead. This sounds easy but you wont find it easy until you might have tried the strat 20 - 30 times and got it optimized for your needs. You always have to adapt to the situation. He might went dual Arms Dealer like you and then its about micro and macro and force fire and how you send your unites. If he went same strat as you then try to hold him for a wile wile you get some money and build a barrack and start making tunnels for securing the base. its very critical at start.


3. GLA versus USA



Oil Grabbing:

I don't know how to play USA on this map and therefor i am not 100% sure what strat to make vs USA. Most likely that both GLA and USA will try to take the oils. USA will probably start spamming humvies and rocket men and make the flashbang upgrade after taking the oils and GLA might go for the oils or go fast infantry rush whit terrorist blowing up the USA base and killing the dozers. USA will try to make fast humvies to overrun your worker and prevent you to make a tunnel. I don't think that USA will try to make helicopters at start because that would be suicide because of so many towers in the map. You might not be able to take both oils at start but you cant let USA take the oils because then USA would be very strong.

To do so, use the Build Order as follows:
Start whit your primary worker building a barrack and build from your main command center five workers. Send your second worker and build a primary supply and from your barrack send two terrorist and two rebel men to the oils. Send one worker on each side and build tunnels at the oils and whit your terrorist kill the USA Rifle men. Build in your base at the primary supply dual tunnels and build a Arms Dealer. Take the oils and build some terrorist and quads and tech cars and here you got good space to flank USA from all over the place. The USA player will have problems at start holding all sides So don't stop flanking all sides and try to attack on more than one place in same time.
The USA player will try to rush you so making some tunnels and garrison the towers will help you pretty much. I don't think this map is Made for USA but a really good pro would probably make it pretty good here.
