[qq]attackmove (China) Vs. -[Smile]-^__^ (USA)

[qq]attackmove aka Skynny
  • Nice transition at the start, you stuck with your all out attack strategy and didn't waste time and energy defending your old base, you moved smoothly over to his.
  • You missed his only dozer with a mob of infantry, just let it waltz right past you. The game could've been over right there if you had been watching them.
  • You seemed to lose your momentum after the base swap. You had a clear advantage with having many more units and better map control but then just seemed to sit back and relax and let Alborkan get back into the game. This could be due in part to how long you spent without a war factory after his drop killed it.
  • You began to regain control of the game when you took the oils, but you still made some questionable decisions, such as building a supply on his side that was totally undefended. At this point in the game it seemed to be only a matter of time until alborkan wrapped it up since you didn't seem to be able to keep up with his drops.
  • Finally you began to get a gatspam together, and made a great EMP drop to take out his paladin army. This really swung the momentum back in your favor, all you needed to do was lean harder on him. However, you let him gather from the middle for a while even though you had gats to spare that could've disrupted his nooks.
  • After he took out your AF for the 2nd time you decided to build a prop center, which seemed like a strange decision considering that you didn't control the middle anymore. Given what you were facing from him at the time, migs + gats seemed to be the best counter.
  • You floated 5k$ for a bit but finally spent it down and took control of the middle and the game.
Overall, good game plan and nice execution at the start. You seemed to lose your focus mid game, distracted and set back by all of his drops, but were able to put together a strong finish and over come his late game USA. Good micro and macro, nice job hanging in there.

Player Rating: 8.8/10

-[Smile]-^__^ aka ALBORKAN
  • Good job being aggressive early, you didn't waste too much time and energy trying to save an overwhelmed base but rather went for his supplies and forced a base swap. You recovered from the base swap nicely and took control of the game.
  • Sloppy micro with your first four paladins. Two died for no reason, and then you lost the two you used to take out his base without accomplishing anything either.
  • Your choice to go with S&D while his units were swarming your base was a bad one. Bombardment would've killed some of his infantry. You should've tried to squeeze out a quick burton as well and this game could've been over much sooner. As it was, you only built burton once and did not use him well.
  • Excellent drops. They slowed him down and swung the momentum of the game in your favor. It took him a long time to rebuild from all of the damage the drops did. You did a good job of taking out the oils soon after he took them as well.
  • Good job retaking the middle and guaranteeing Skynny didn't hold a big cash advantage. At one point you were floating 6k$, money that could've won the game for you right then if you had spent it. You also didn't rebuild your strat center after he took it out, and burton / tomahawks / upgrades could all have helped you. You had the money as well.
  • Your decision to build two war factories was not a good one. After you build a few units you didn't have the cash flow to support both of them. A strat center would've been a better decision. Additionally, once you got snipers you should've left one near your base to defend against lotus. She was able to cause a lot of probems and distractions back there.
  • Good job harassing his migs, you could've wrapped the game up pretty easily but he got you with a nice EMP drop. That's bad luck on your part.

Overall, you played very well at the start to survive his all out rush and take his base out. Your drops were amazing and gave you a chance to win the game. However, some micro/macro mistakes and a superb EMP drop robbed you of the chance to win.

Player Rating: 8.2/10

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Begin of the game - Skynny goes all-in forcing the base swap

After base swap -[Smile]-^__^ gaining back control of map and game

Awesome EMP by Skynny - will that be enough to turn the game again?

Nice 15-month bump!

Seriously though, can someone give this a review? 1990 had some persistant USA here.

Edit: By 1990, I meant Alborkan.

As soon as I watched it, I remembered it. Great USA play, not to take an example to because you really need some amazing micro to accomplish what Alborkan did.

Wubbed by me. happy.gif

It helps aggression and expansion. Selling 2 WF = 2k = more THs and a faster mid supply. The only downside is the lack of presence at home base. That early in the game if you are attacking, you don't need a constant flow of gats.
