Interview with Fargo
Fargo, Mr. EZ, reached the finals of the biggest tournament in ZH history: The World Series 2021. He lost the final against Excal. Beforehands, he had decided to announce his retirement. Challenges with Fargo are never boring. Sometimes he spends more time on typing to his opponent then microing his units. He reached the fourth spot in this list, and seeing his retirement, it is time we had an interview with the man. On behalf of GameReplays, -NickName had an interview with Fargo and he tried his best to convince Fargo to make a comeback.
GameReplays: Hello Mr. Fargo. Where are you from? Where do you live now? Where do you see yourself to live in the future? Why there?
Fargo: I'm from Lithuania, currently living in UK, London. Where do I see myself in future? Where do I see myself to live in the future? That depends a lot on a few things, like how crypto will do, if it does what I expect to do, then I will keep changing countries every week/month and visit mostly islands where nice ladies with bikini's only and showing their round shapes ! So let's all hope for it, for me. If it doesn't, well let's not go there :smile:
GameReplays: We all know your brother Dudush, we all read a story in a paper about Shaye being your brother. Do you have any more brothers?
Fargo: Oh, how did you find out that Mr detective? :open_mouth: Shaye is my half real brother, so your information is a little incorrect. I might have, but lets keep it a secret for the future, all I can say Hawky begged me to be his brother and asked me if I wanted to be his best in his weddings. Sadly I declined and he's still waiting..
GameReplays: You retired after what has to be your biggest set you ever played in Zero Hour: the final of the World Series 2021. How does a life without ZH feel?
Fargo: Well, it was the biggest regards to viewers/prize for sure, although I didn't perform that well, especially seeing afterwards what kind of basic mistakes I did which made me a bit disappointed and realising I could have done much better, but answering your question: it is great, got into table tennis, Excal wanna do challenge there? 2v2? Life is good, been working, got back into yoga, meditation, basketball and will study.
GameReplays: Did you play ZH after your retirement at all? Or did you quit cold turkey?
Fargo: Would you believed if I say no? :smile: Actually I didn't at all, I find it too easy, want others to have a chance like Peace Lover, maybe he can sometime beat Roll and achieve something, like best Arab player?
GameReplays: You might not miss ZH, ZH definitely misses you. You thinking about making a comeback or you gonna wait for 10 years like Excal did?
Fargo: . 10 years might be too much, maybe 5? Well, or maybe my child will meet his child for revenge?
GameReplays: You use chat a lot, don't you have the feeling you might be focused a bit less on the game as you are busy typing?
Fargo: Might be true or not, I guess I will never know as I love trash talk during tennis, especially basketball, so easy to distract/annoy players
GameReplays: Ez, you afk, some terms you like to throw out. Why do you say that? Is it just a bit of banter? Is there a psychological reason behind it? Or do you honest wonder if the opponent is afk?
Fargo: I say it to cause more drama for the viewers, streamer can have more things to talk about and its gives extra fun, also I do it to make the opponent rage.
GameReplays: Do you play tennis in real life?
Fargo: Of course I do, I have Head Gravity Tour racket ! Although a good racket doesn't make you great, same as having a great mouse I guess :smile:
GameReplays: What do you think about the term Fargo pop?
Fargo: As long as it makes me more popular and extra fun for the viewers, go for it, good or bad advertisement is good :wink:
GameReplays: What is your opinion of the map Planet Coyon, a map dedicated to your language?
Fargo: It is a great map, many people might not realise because they use small and less open maps. This map reminds of a Starcraft map, where you have your main base safe, no one can touch it, so you can focus on defending second base easier and potentially faster third as you don't need to defend main one, also map is quite wide, lots of money in it which makes games a bit longer and more balanced. On top of that, I seen new bigger and bigger maps which makes games even longer (in sc2 was the same, at the beginning there were small maps and later they become bigger and bigger to make games longer), as rush distance much further from your opponent, you can expand more freely and likely the better player wins in long game compare to smaller map where you can get lucky with better army or lucky fast attack, really liking more oils available, which is easier for china/usa to defend vs gla, I think map makers should keep focusing on making bigger maps with lots of oils to make it balanced vs gla.
GameReplays: What is your favourite army? What is your favourite MUs? What is your favourite map?
Fargo: Hard to say as it depends on matchups. E.g Air is great but vs tank it is weak if tank knows how to play vs USA, but still AIR I guess, LOL, mostly because of promotions, cheap chinooks, raptors and combat chinooks. For me, it must be Canyon of the Dead (had to go and check how its called).
GameReplays: What tournament would you like to see in the near future? Would you participate in it? Just trying to get you active again.
Fargo: Ah, please don't get me back into it :smile: Well, it would be WS I guess, big $$$, ez CASH
GameReplays: Are there any things you want to achieve?
Fargo: Yes, a lot, not only to achieve but also make good habits, like more reading, body exercises, study, even dance, improve in sports and lots more ! Excal pm me how much you charger per hour?
GameReplays: Who is your favourite opponent, why him?
Fargo: My half brother Shay, I known him for long as you can imagine and it is not so hard to beat him :wink: Well Roll is even more easy to beat, not as fun. Also love beating Hawky and after he losses, he would gg with smile GG
, like what it suppose to mean? I got lucky? Or is he happy losing to big Fargo, so he could come to his weddings?
GameReplays: Who don't you like playing, and why?
Fargo: Really hard to say as I love to play vs everyone except total noobs, like Peace Lover and similar medium semi's. Sorry guys, no offence. Athough it is really hard to play against Excal, which makes it less fun as you have to make very few mistakes if you want to win.
GameReplays: What player do you think is the best partner for you in team games?
Fargo: Ah, it would be Excal(why do I mention him so much???) as he is calm, smart and really good, but also Size, same reasons, he is calm, good and funny :smile: I tried once with Akabolony, sadly someone rage quit from my team, so it didn't work out :frowning: So sad
GameReplays: Why did you pick the name
Fargo?
Fargo: Long time ago I use to have noob nick, like forest (I find out later there was great player forest from cs) but in my language, so I needed a change. I wasn't smart enough to pick NickName, so I tried to remember which great movies I watched and which movie name looked good and realised Fargo fits both criteria, later there was even better series !
GameReplays: You played Starcraft 2 on a high level. Why did you choose to switch back to Zero Hour?
Fargo: I had less time as I started to work more and also Sc2 became more and more competitive, lots of South Koreans started to dominate completely , although now foreigners doing well.
GameReplays: Starcraft 2 is a big RTS game, are there things they do that could be implemented for Zero Hour aswell?
Fargo: Yes as mentioned in question 10, to make games longer, more skilled and actually more balanced, you need bigger and balanced maps, so map makers keep doing what you doing !
