Interview with FlameIORI
FlameIORI got two tournaments wins this quarter. Solo he went for first place in the High Semi High Stakes tournament, and with Vivid an Apocalyps he won the 3vs3 ShockReplays Tournament.
In January he also won the 2vs2 Winter Tournament, although this is not taken into account for the last quarter of 2021. However, it is a nice moment to ask him about any differences between teaming with Excal and Vivid. This, and many more questions were asked and answered.
GameReplays: Where are you from? How old are you? Do you work/study?
FlameIORI: Hi, my name is Ebraheem, I am from Saudi Arabia and 31 years old. I am working at this moment and got bachelor degree in Computer Science .
GameReplays: When did you start playing ZH?
FlameIORI: I start playing in 2003 when it came out, before that I was playing Red Alert 2, so I was excited for Generals.
from 2003 to 2006 I was playing campaigns and locally with my older brother (he is the one who introduced me to ZH).
2006 is the year where I playing my first online match (on Hamachi back in the days)
I joined Generals online in 2008.
GameReplays: Are there more games you like and/or play?
FlameIORI: For now I am rarely playing any game, and trying to try new different games. But for my previous years I was playing ZH, HoN (Heroes of Newerth) and some League of Legends.
GameReplays: What is your favorite army, matchup and map?
FlameIORI: Tank is my favourite army, matchup would be USA vs GLA and map I would say Vendetta.
GameReplays: Why is ZH so popular in the Middle East?
FlameIORI: I don't think that ZH was popular, but nowadays maybe comparing it to the rest of the world. So the reason could be because of technicals xD, I don't know. Back in the days it was really hard to find players, those played ZH in internet cafe's.
In 2006 I have found an Arabic forum where I met most of Arab player especially Google and from there, the journey began.
GameReplays: How do you motivate yourself to play after so many years?
FlameIORI: I don't
, I have stopped playing ZH many times but I like watching streams.
Sometimes when I remember that feeling when you win a tournament or a challenge and that gets me back to ZH for short amount of time. Like in 2011 when we (Google, Joker and I) won the Nation cup.
GameReplays: What kind of tournament do you wish?
FlameIORI: These days I enjoyed team games so I would say 3v3.
GameReplays: Any wishes for Zero Hour?
FlameIORI: New Generals game!
GameReplays: What do you think about a new patch?
FlameIORI: It is a good sign for ZH, it focuses on fixing bugs and fixing the game, rather than changing everything and I'll be happy to play some games using the patch.
GameReplays: Why you hate cows?
FlameIORI: They have high annoying mooing volume which distract you from focusing on the game. When you are on top of your focus and waiting to hear that tech is come from left or right and then you will get shocked by freaking annoying mooing sound, yea they are annoying
GameReplays: You teamed with Excal recently, how was that experience?
FlameIORI: I really enjoyed playing with him, you got to see and learn how top players think and what tactics they use on different situations. And of course, you got to ask them a lot of questions
Excal has a friendly attitude and was always ready to hear my thoughts and give me tips during the set.
GameReplays: You also teamed with another expert this quarter, Vivid. How was this experience? What are the differences with Excal?
FlameIORI: Vivid is extremely nice and shy guy
I enjoyed playing with him in 3v3 tournament, our communication was good. Everyone of the team was up to the task, we assigned him as a leader and he lead us to victory!
To give you an example of how shy he is, he just say what he wants once and in a low tune/volume, so if you didnt hear him, he will just ignores it and never repeat that again
Even tho I told him alot, I don't mind him repeating it multiple times.
What were the differences? Hmm, with Excal we always plan our games, discuss before each set on what could work and what could notPpracice some 2v2s. But with Vivid we just went straight to games and get the plan on the go

). Well, that's because it was a 3v3 tournament and was hard to be all together as a team on a certain time due to time zones. Apoc is coming late while vivid has to sleep.
GameReplays: You stream quite often, any future plans or goals you want to achieve?
FlameIORI: Currently I'll be streaming and playing few games of ZH, start playing and exploring new games and even try new things to find a new passion.
GameReplays: Last question and this is the question everyone wonders about: what is the secret of your fabulous hair?
FlameIORI: To be honest, there is no secret. It is my unique thing I guess (genes)
I started to get white hair from my high school years and then I got alot from working. But yea, I'm not gonna lie, it looks cool
. I also got some comments on it, especially when traveling "is this natural?" lool
It is funny how it got mentioned a lot. I remember when first time I got a comment on my hair, it was from Boycah. I guess he said " Wow best Arab hair" and from that day, the hair story was born
