$7,550 prize pool, and only one will take the big prize of $3,200. Click the link and see the generous sponsors we have for this amazing prize pool. With 4 quarterfinals the upcoming week, big clashes are happening. 6 master players and 2 pro players will fight it out.
The first quarterfinal is between Tumstep and Fargo. Tumstep got promoted just before the World Series to master, he qualified through winning the second qualification tournament. Fargo was auto-qualified due to his master badge. In previous round, Tumstep had a tough battle against RaginG`_K and it came to the deciding nuke mirror. Fargo had it a bit easier against Satanic1, as he won 6-0. This top match will be played this Friday at 16GMT, streamed by
Dominator and
bl9rTV. Make sure to put this date in your agenda.
The second quarterfinal is against master Vivid and Clan Wars winner Lift-Truck. Vivid had a quick round 3 set, in a good half hour he won against bigGanja with 6-0. Lift-Truck had a bit of a tougher battle against Spl, but the set win wasn't in much trouble after all. In the end he had a comfortable lead and won with 6-3. This match is not 100% scheduled yet, good chance this will be played either this Saturday or Sunday. Make sure to keep an eye out on the
WS Streambox, here you will see the times for all upcoming sets and who the streamer will be. Under past streams, you can look back at previous rounds and previous streams.
The third quarterfinal is a replay of last year: Excal vs StaZzz. StaZzz shocked the ZH community to its core last year and was very close to kick out Excal. After a 4-2 lead, it came all the way down to the decider (a nuke mirror on Stonehenge). One of the greatest set from last year. Excal seems to be in form, as he kicked out two experts in a row. After meeting Dominator in round 2 (6-1), he faced WS 2020 winner Boycah. Another 6-1 secured Excal a spot in the quarterfinals. StaZzz had a tough set in round 2 against MoJo_JoJo (6-5), but showed against Pepsi that he is a force to be reckoned with. Will 2023 be the year that StaZzz kicks out Excal? That question will be answered this Monday at 17GMT. That's when this set is arranged, and will be streamed by
AlfieAce and
DarkDanteTV.
The last quarterfinal is between two masters: BiG^SiZe and Marakar. With BiG^SiZe, we got WS history. He is currently the player with the most won games in the entire history of the World Series, and was playing in the WS of 2010 already. He reached the finals and lost against Excal, another ZH dinosaur. With 3 WS titles, BiG^SiZe is the record holder, along with Excal. Marakar has been quite unfortunate in previous World Series. In 2021 and 2022, he lost in round 3. With reaching the quarterfinals this year, he has already performed better than the last 2 editions. With 0 losses thus far, he is one scary player. BiG^SiZe vs Marakar: BiG^Battle, that's for sure. This set is not scheduled yet, the players are looking at halfway next week. Again, keep an eye out on the
Streambox so you won't miss a thing.
And that concludes the preview of the quarterfinals, big sets between big players are about to happen. Make sure to tune in and witness ZH history being made.
