That China rush is so annoying to deal with (even in this scenario where he was only attacking off 1 wf, 1 rax and 1 supply). If you put early pressure on the china like a patriot drop or a vee like you did it just leaves you so exposed and im not sure USA can really counter the crawler, RPGs and stream of Gatts rolling in unless you get super lucky with crushes or got at least one firebase down and possibly skipped the early aggression.
Makes me wonder if that USA tank you get with the promotion might actually be a good counter to that rush. Its good vs everything there(gatts, red guard, dragons) and the RPGs to some extent with its laser point defence. I might give that a go sometime although it obviously has its downsides (sacrficing drone, slow build time, expensive?)
Or of course you can just base swap like you did g

Paladin tanks are indeed a good counter, but as you said, they are expensive and have a slower build time. I've seen quick Palidan drops work well, but I think it works better vs a standard dual supply and 2WF build.
