FiReSToRm(Inf) vs -Curious^(Stealth)

A tough match between two highly skilled players, one being what I would consider to be the 2nd best active player at the time of leaving this review(overall LoGica vs isabag99(Tazmany) 42/18 Total games: 60 Win Rate: 70%). Loads of attacks from -Curious^(Tazmany) which are countered, almost with ease by FiReSToRm(Logica), but all the while you can observe small mistakes which judge the outcome, sadly, most of which will come from -Curious^ mid-game.

Comments on FiReSToRm:
  • Easily denying his early map control right from the start and distracting his attention for a few seconds with that first Supply Truck and Dragon Tank.
  • By 4 minutes into the game it seemed like it would have been a good idea to have gotten mines on your right-supply(upper) to stop him from his constant harassment on it.
  • You had a lot going on, so I wouldn't say that you should have gone straight for your tech buildings, although it is a great help to have an oil refinery as Infantry, because it helps to levels out your collection and unit building rhythm.
  • Very good use of that epic range with Super-Lotus; It always makes me laugh to see just how much distance she can cover over buildings like that.
  • Some less floating, and more Inferno Cannons earlier in the game would have ended it more quickly; Really should have done that to avoid back and forth engagements.
  • Overall: A seemingly very calm attitude throughout the game, by the looks of it. Floating more than $6,000 for portions of the game. Good use of Generals Abilities(Powers) in defense and offense. Lack of Inferno Cannons early on, and building a Helix against late-game Stealth isn't the best idea.

Comments on -Curious^:
  • Don't leave your Technical and RPG's sit and do no damage after you drop them, get them back into the Tech and drive around the other side of the supply(just beneath the left-side of them)and hunt the Dozer, and maybe get a truck if he doesn't move it quickly enough; But even just sending them away would be better than leaving them to die.
  • Denying the power and his right-supply for about a minute would have been mildly helpful, but you could have gone after his left supply(knowing that it is often defenselessly collecting), and done some better damage there right from the start.
  • It was a waste of your 3 Quads(1 Elite) to chase after his two Attack Outposts like that; You know that is always a bad move, so I'll assume you weren't paying attention to that.
  • You had a lot of free time to take the bunker building on his side of the right-middle supplies, and use that as a safe area to attack his supply & base from.
  • You can build two Supply Stashes to collect from the right-middle supplies on your side, just place them right and it will increase your income.
  • Good use of Kell to push away his Outposts, but you shouldn't pop all of your units out in the direction of his army; Use the Buggies that you popped out to go along and keep firing on his units, so he doesn't just go out of range and regroup; Also, Buggies without extra ammo, and Quads without AP-bullets are not a good counter against Outposts and ECM Tanks; You must get these upgrades quickly to push back effectively.
  • Repair your buildings...always, not matter the game, you will always have time to do this as GLA.
  • 20 minutes in and no Cash Bounty; In this MU it is best to get Cash Bounty maxed out and your CC up fast, because you'll always be making a killing while you're killing Outposts and all of the infantry inside.
  • Overall: Mismicro moments cost lots of units over the course of the game, along with some moments where map control wasn't taken in more logistical areas; Sending Quads from a long distance isn't a good idea, because it doesn't allow you to relocate them quickly to effect-immediately new situation. Paying good attention to incoming Bombers and other planes, popping and firing on them to stop them from doing damage.

I will give this game a 7/10 for my entertainment. I feel that this game could have been better had one side floated less and the other side thought more about what he was doing with his units on the map.
