Heisendberg559 (Laser) vs JarmenElectra (Air) on Natural Threats

This is a very short game that sees on player make a few critical errors that allow the other player to take the victory.

1/10, for my entertainment. Not enough of a challenge.

Spoiler
  • You looked a bit indecisive at the start. You could have stopped his Dozer with your first MD, and gotten a Raptor instead of a Comanche. The reason you want a quick Raptor in games like these, is to stop him from dropping you again, because that makes it easy for you to overwhelm your opponent with Raptors & Vees, while he will be stuck in his base trying to get Avengers. Hunting his last Dozer with your Comanche paid for it.
  • I was anticipating your drop to be very effective, however, you lost your Comanche, then dropped right in front of his Avenger, which should never be done, as he can simply run over your infantry. You also lost your Chinook as a result.
At the same time your Macro disappeared, as you left your Chinooks above your left-supply back at your base, where he had dropped 3 MD's(the minimum to properly harass AFG Chinooks), so both of your Chinooks were shot down. All you had to do was move them to another supply. This should have been done immediately when you saw his Chinook coming, but still could have been done after the first warning message about a it popped up.
  • You didn't stand a chance after that point, because you had nothing to counter his drop.

Spoiler
  • You saw him building a Barrack, so you should have dropped behind the Supply Center, or Airfield, because you can't avoid an MD without a corner.
  • Your drop at his left supply was totally successful, but you could have LL'd the Chinooks quicker, just to look professional.
  • Back at your base you made the right choice with an Avenger, making short work of his Comanche, and his drop. You should always try to drive right under where you see a Chinook unloading, because there's nothing more frustrating to somebody trying to do a drop, than having all his MD's crushed instantly.
  • Nice big drop for the win, didn't even need to LL his fleeing Dozer & last Chinook, other than to rub it in that the game was over.

Dont you need 4 mds to beat afg laser defence tho? I thought I sent 4 in this, or thats what I do these days. And yea the chinook shadow thing is so handy

3 MD's work fine for harassing Chinooks, same for AFG bomber, but you'll want at least 5 to stop Raptors when they are on the airfield.

If the raptor is up in the air...maybe 12 will work.

hmm, dont know why I started doing 4 then because if im Laser I want a patriot and MD drop which is not posible in one nook if I have 4 MD ^^ sometimes do double drop as a result of this but its expensive as hell, pretty killer tho if succesful. Laser isnt a bad army to counter airs, maybe pro airs it is. You jsut need to go so all in, but why not if the match up is so fcked to begin with. And the same case stands for SWG, vees so expensive and pointless SWG should be drop king really, the only issue with swg patriot dropping is its power vulnerability. But that can be countered by dozer 2 making multiple powers in random ass places he wont suspect whilst taking oils if the map permits. Then vees after oils if he still alive

Yeah, 4 is in excess, but if you want to do some major damage at the start, some players go two barracks, then make 5/6 MD's, and 3/2 Rangers to fill a nook, then they go all-in for the drop+oils game. It can work, so long as you are totally successful in delaying your opponent, and taking the oils, if either fails, the game is over.

Pro+/Expert players make SW vs Air look pretty balanced. Search around for some replays on it, and you may see that. I believe scuba & Hawky played some Air vs SW games in a tourney, and the SW player won, but I'm not sure.

My personal favorite games are USA mirrors of all kinds, because of the intensity, and short length of the games.

verdicts out if I like USA mirrors, they are so micro intensive espcially when both players drop. To drop and defend a drop simultaneously is very hard to pull off and normally gets messy. My probably only exception to that is vs AFG as its expected you will lose so there isnt too much presure and its more fun to play imo.
Yea I have observed some good dropping games with constant drops, and oils is just always a good idea vs airs who are going to be harassing nooks 100%

I like being a USA vs GLA probably the most then GLA vs USA
