OverviewThis replay demonstrates a Chinese defensive MiG build order against an Infantry general being commanded by a player of like skill level. It puts on display for all to see the superiority of MiG over the Outpost, the unrivaled might of China over Shin Fai, but within the same replay, only moments later, it shows what chaos my befall the man who enacts such a build order only to execute it poorly. While his Infantry opponent places his supplies with pinpoint logistical prowess, the China player lewdly throws down scaffolds with the grossest negligence. He views his minor achievements of defense in the early game to be something profound and impactful on the greater course of the game, so begins his floating, spending his cash on whatever perversity his mind can conjure up for him to use in defending himself. All while his opponent quietly plots a course for aggression, one that is carefully executed, and when the fruition of this is seen by the China player, his world falls apart, his micro betrays him, so the defenses fall, his macro, long abandoned, is no more able to salvage his dire situation, and so goes up in flames his imaginary advantage. With control lost, the game quickly spirals into the inevitable struggle for decisive victory; Using all he had left at his disposal, the China player fights feverishly down the left flank with Dragon, Red Guard, TH's, and a few MiGs. For his desperation, he is lightly rewarded with some gain of ground, but this is not long kept, as luck runs dry moments later.
theDrugsdontwork (China)Tips for improvement- Both supplies were inefficient. You should always strive to place your Supply Centers in such a way that allows for little to no movement of the trucks as they collect & deposit their loads. This can save you from getting grey hairs out of the frustration you feel while awaiting the next $300 you need to queue another unit. Take a look at your opponents supplies, they were exemplary.
- Your slow reaction time resulted in losing the bunker on your right against his first Outpost. Though it didn't really cost you much money, it did cost you a few seconds of focus that you could have placed some place else.
- Going so long without Black Napalm for your MiGs was harsh, had you built a WF instead of extra bunkers in the middle you could have afforded to defend the buildings and use Dragons, Gats, & Tank Hunters to push into his base, all while being aided by BN MiGs that he could by no means counter.
- You made to attempt to take or destroy his oil, during the time it would have been easy to do so, nor did you at any good time make an attempt to go down his flanks whilst they lay open to your unmitigated molestation.
- You maintained a level of audacious floating throughout this game that was in hideous contradiction to your own belief on the sacred Law of Macro. Even hitting such high numbers as $10,000 before realizing how often you needed more than what you had.
- Watching this game turn from your favor to your opponents was like a personal victory over the unconscionable offender being dealt justice.
Enock (Inf)Tips for improvement- Garrison the middle buildings before your opponent does. Doing that in this game would have dramatically changed the outcome, as he would no longer have a good defense early on.
- Take both oils at the start, he most likely won't stop you having done this build order.
- Try not to bunch up your army and especially your infantry.
- No matter how a game is going, never give up on trying to sneak up the flanks on him, it will take a toll on his focus, and may allow you to shorten the game in your own favor.
Overall rating: 3/10 (mostly due to the lack of strength from the China players MiGs).
