I was not expecting him to play at such a level that he did, not a high one, but one that allowed him to actually reach your base like he did.
I don't believe I've seen him play before, looks like ones of those players who've learned a few tactics and implement them as a means to win, however, this vicarious strategy is not suitable for high-skill games, but being up against you, having little 1 vs 1 experience on official maps, he was able to do quite well for himself from my estimation.
And, if he had gotten tunnels around the map, he would have crushed you very easily.
You of course did the superior strategy, expanding your tunnel presence and taking the middle like you did, so there was little change, especially with him floating 10k.

this was my first day of playing 1v1s, think 3e game or something. he did all in strat as far i saw. no idea lol. was funny.
