SuBuRb(SW) vs -FaKe^_Acc(Demo)

A good game, full of action, but a lot of poor skill moments led to most of the length of the game.

SuBuRb
  • The worst start for SW is a Comanche start, that costs you $2,800 for something that cannot withstand three RPG shots or a few seconds of Quad fire. You can start off this kind of MU with two Barracks along with EMP's, playing defensively till you can get Humvees up, and don't forget to garrison an MD in that bunker on the hill by your tech buildings to stop him from harassing your right supply.
  • You defended your base well enough in the beginning, then attacked when you should have, however, you still didn't take your oil/refinery(both are very important in this MU); And your base was very poorly defended whilst you attacked his, this led to an easy Dozer hunt for him, making the game unnecessarily difficult for you. A simply EMP on both supplies is enough to deter most attacks. I was glad to see you use Raptors to defend against TT's after you'd lost your Dozer, that is some good thinking.
  • You shouldn't have committed suicide with what was left of your Humvee army by driving it onto the hill and unloading into that bunker; Just a moment earlier you were able to destroy both his Barracks and simply out-micro his Quads, then you could have sent a few more Vees in to finish him off, given you didn't lose any Vees in the meantime. At least you destroyed his oil.
  • If ever you are going to make Comanches as any USA general, please remember to upgrade Counter-Measures, it essentially doubles the armor for them, allowing to do far more damage without the worry that you will lose them all to one Quad. Nevertheless, you put them to good use along with the rest of your army and came out on top because of it.
-FaKe^_Acc
  • Going for a big TT spam is a waste against somebody that is prepared for it, like any USA player who drops a drone on your base will be. Go for a traditional BO to take map control, and on this map, take your tech buildings and third supply as soon as you can, these will facilitate you so much against SW. Keep up the harassment with a few Technicals here and there to keep him from focusing on the attack for a while, until you can start doing damage to his base, as you will want to be secured around the map. A great security for Demo, which you should already be aware of, is Demo traps, they only cost $200, so you could have made them all over the place in this game; This would have further deterred him from driving straightway to your base.
  • Ah yes, the big bad Dozer hunt, you should have been able to do that sooner, but it was just as well you did it at all; You should have followed up with relentless TT's to destroy his buildings, his WF first for obvious reasons.
  • I hadn't realized it till I watched this replay a second time, but your collection rate was very poor in the mid-to-late game, as you were on 2, 3, 4, 2 workers constantly; Always try to keep 5 per supply to keep it smooth.
  • You've got to expand in this MU, which you couldn't well do by the end, as you'd gotten yourself stuck in a corner with no money, therefore, it was checkmate.
6/10
