Gameplay

Map pool

During this event you can only use these selected 1vs1 maps.
  • Barstow Badlands
  • Pipeline Problems
  • Small Town USA
  • Tournament Arena
  • Tournament Coastline
  • Tournament Dustbowl
  • Tournament Rift
  • Tournament Tower
  • Tournament Apocalypse*
  • Tournament Meadow*
  • Tournament Ridge*
  • Urban Roulette*
  • High Rise*
Note: Maps denoted with an asterisk (*) may only be played with consent from both participants. If your opponent does not agree to play such a map, you have to pick one of the EA maps. You can download these maps by following this link.

The map selection is fixed and not negotiable, but subject to possible changes by the tournament organizers.

The first map of each round will be based upon map elimination, loser picks thereafter.

Here is an example of a map elimination

Phantom -Barstow badlands
Claymore -Pipline problems
Phantom -Tournament rift
Claymore -Tournament Tower
Phantom -Tournament medaow
Claymore -Small town usa
Phantom -Tournament arena
Claymore -High rise
Phantom -Urban roulette
Claymore -Tournament apocalypse
Phantom - Tournament tower
Claymore - Tournament dustbowl

that leaves tournament coastline to be played as the first match.

If you can't decide who should start the elimination, the player with the lowest seed number on Challonge will eliminate first which can be verified on the bracket. If you don't know what that means, ask a Referee. Factions, including random, must be chosen before elimination begins and cannot be changed afterwards. If a player changes faction after map elimination is complete, the other player can decide to counter pick, do nothing, or restart the map elimination process at his discretion. The same map cannot be played twice in any series during any round.

Playing on maps that are not in the map pool is prohibited. Players who play for the first time on a map that is not part of the map pool will receive a warning. In case of a recurring violation of the aforementioned rule, the tournament staff will decide what to do at their discretion. If your opponent insists on playing a map that is not in the map pool, please let the tournament staff know.

Seeding

Seeding will be randomly seeded before the tournament starts.

Result Reporting and Replays

After the winner of each round has been determined, it is the responsibility of the winning player to report the victory to a referee and to post the result and the replay(s) in the specified results thread. Players may not proceed to play their next round unless and until the replays (both defeats and victories) from the previous rounds have been uploaded to gamereplays.org as directed by the tournament rules or staff.

Conduct at the Event

Players are expected to assist in the conduct of the event. Accordingly, conduct which tends to disrupt the event, including a failure to follow the instructions of the tournament manager or staff, interrupting or intervening in announcements made by the tournament staff or discourteous or disruptive conduct generally may result in forfeiture, sanction or disqualification from the tournament or future tournaments. Players or individuals that disrupt or attempt to disrupt the event may be kicked off line and banned from return during the course of the event or future events. The decision of the tournament manager on all matters concerning the conduct and outcome of the tournament is final and not open to debate. Questioning any such decision is likely to be treated as disruptive conduct.

Delaying one's own defeat in a game where defeat is inevitable and there is no tactical advantage to the delay may be considered bad sportsmanship and treated as such.

The following rulings have been added to tournaments. All bugs and exploits listed below are banned in events and will be punished:
  • Teleporting EMP'd units Player forfeits unit to their opponent unless the opponent allows them to keep it. Unit must be sent on hold fire stance.
  • Beacon Building Block Player will get a warning, if he continues to use the bug they will forfeit the match, any further use will result in a disqualification.
  • Beam-Venom unlimited range Player will have 3 seconds to stop the bug. If the player does not stop the bug they will receive a warning. If used again they forfeit the game.

  • Foxhole-harverster bug Player will receive 1 warning, any further offences will result in a game forfeit.
  • Using sides of any maps to hide units where the enemy can't see them. Player forfeits the game, if used again player is disqualified.
  • Producing duplicates of units to get them to instantly spawn (Commando's, Mastermind) Player forfeits the game, continual usage will result in the player being disqualified
  • Using Stasis Shield on a superweapon AFTER the weapon has activated to stop it dealing damage. Player forfeits the game, continual usage will result in the player being disqualified
  • Multiple avatar upgrading from one unit.Player forfeits the game, continual usage will result in the player being disqualified
  • Freezing the game while in windowed mode Player forfeits the game, continual usage will result in the player being disqualified
  • Disconects/desynch Players decide if they want to give a win or remake the game. If they remake the game the same factions/map must be used. If players can not agree then the replay is to be sent to the referee who will decide the outcome. With disconnects if a player disconnects multiple times in a tournament they may be DQ'd.

Cheating/Disconnecting/Dispute Resolution

All reports and issues will be resolved by the tournament manager and the referees. Cheating will result in exclusion from the tournament and a ban from future tournaments hosted by GameReplays.org. Poor sportsmanship may also result in disqualification from the tournament.

If an exploit or bug is not listed above that does not mean you can use it in the tournament, any one using bugs/exploits will be dealt with on a case by case basis with the potential of full exclusion from future tournaments.

Ladder Wars Tournament Rules

To the extent that these rules do not expressly provide otherwise, the Ladder Wars Tournament Rules apply to this event.

Being Late

Players/teams that fail to show how up within 15 minutes of their allocated match time will be disqualified. At this point, an alternate player(s)/team may be allocated to their position, or the opponent will advance.
