Even if it's all about towers... one of my best 1.4 games.

Match Overview
Pretty good match where Nod starts off with a ST rush and then switches to scorps while GDI fast-techs to SEs and aircraft. Really well used aircraft to push back the OoL crawl and SE crawl of his own. Great use of aircraft from the GDI player really helped him, but Nod had a few chances to win that he didn't use.

Your ST rush put you a tad behind in terms of economy because you didn't really hit any economy buildings, but focused on power and crane. Would've been good to go after a ref, maybe the blue tib one which would stop his biggest source of income. Pretty effective base crawl, but one thing that hurt you was letting yourself get low power by building all your power at the front. Use it to spider, but don't go on low power (save some power in the back). Also not having that tech center really hurt you.
    Tips for Improvement
  • While you attacked targets well with your STs, I think that you easily could've taken off with your STs when around the watchtowers to not lose them. Watchtowers can't fire at air units.
  • All you need to save your STs from dying once he has a pitbull/APC team up is 2 scorps. If you send your STs in the direction of your base with 2 scorps coming from your base to meet the pitbull/APC then you can save your STs for later.
  • You really shouldn't even be making laser turrets late game against sonic emitters. In place of them without your tech center just make scorps or try to get venoms since they are probably the best
  • You really needed beam cannons and a better form of AA. Venoms would answer that call because they'd get his orcas when they were flying around firing and it would also force him to use his FHs for AA instead of anti-building.

While your start really put you at a disadvantage not having anything to fight him off with, you did a great job of pp/watchtower spamming to ward him off while you got pitbull/APCs and teched. Your orca micro was top notch. Just be careful that you don't go too close to SAM sites because orca armor is so weak. I'd say what put you over the top was that your SE spam took out all his power since he put it up front and then you took down his tech center for that key moment. The road to recovery was slow and hard fought, but you played well using your AF and SEs. Really can't suggest more than what you used.
    Tips for Improvement
  • You were really missing a watchtower at the AF. You had it around all your other important buildings, yet that was the most important one and you didn't have it protected very well.
  • Always make sure that where you're fighting you outnumber him in terms of obelisks to SEs. Otherwise, he'll get more shots off since they do about the same damage, good use of putting SEs to fire on multiple buildings in a line.
  • I think you could've used ZTs in the back of his base. Since getting up a tank force would've been useless, but ZTs for harassment would've been good since he didn't have venoms to defend with.

I would have like to have seen Juggernauts and beam tanks to counter the excessive use of base defense. I liked the start of this game but the end was boring. Base creeping is not what RTS games should be about. The micro management and strategic use of all units and structures should be important.

i agree. to be honest i expected a little bit more resitance against GDI basecrawl sad.gif . i think to basecrawl without any units just like GDI, can't be good for NOD, coz all over all SEs > obelisks . you at least should charge them up with some beam cannons to get a range advantage and prevent him from crawing forward.

nevertheless it was really well played by GDI, although he could have used his firehawks more often imo(destroying his techcentre once is good, killing it two, three or four times is better tongue.gif and you could have gone for his reffs/harvesters aswell, as long there as were just two SAM sites). but what was really superb, was your orca-usage WTF.gif bowdown.gif . i would have loved to see some stealthies agianst them - waiving there was no techncentre on NODs side for quiet some time.

and i can't agree with the statement that venoms would have been helpful. Veoms just do a shit against tanks and you will need masses with lasers to kill structures with them. whats even worse, they re so easy to scare away with turrets, pitbulls or even mammoths. quiete the contrary vertigos would have been great, because imo they re even stronger than firehawks.

I'm not really sure what pre-requisites you need to be a "replay reviewer", but these replay "reviews" are awful. It almost seems as though the reviewers have played this game once (on single player) and try to give insight on the replay...
