Wow, a gold-replay contender without a formal review? What's the world come to..
So here it goes another...
The MaDD Review - 04-15-2007 ----------------------------------------------
Match Overview An intense game, excellent on the tactical department but really sucky on the strategical department. For me this is a 6, and I'm seriously only giving it a 7 because of the excellent micro by Pilbots. To be honest, if I didn't know what my good friend aRRRRR had been playing for the last few years I'd say this was a stand-up game.
#aRRRRR# aRRRRR (how many Rs "r" in there again? ) does a great build order but is not fortunate in the counter-proportions department and fails to play cnc3 in a "cnc way".
+ Fast expansion and good scorpions massing build order. 4x warfactory scorpspam ftw
- Didn't focus on the opponent's harvesters when given the chance
- Didn't focus fire on the opponent's refineries, possibly hiding behind them to force the devourers to engage on close distance
- Could've been more agressive and sacrificial with his scorpion. This is not War3, you CAN afford to lose units, specially cheap scorpions.
- Did 'too many counters' for the Storm Riders. Mass buggies, bikes AND venoms. That delayed and hurt you more than helped, specially going venoms when shock troopers were around.
- Try harder to keep the bikes on the back of your forces, you've lost too many to Shock troopers.
- Didn't use decoy army before large engagements and took to long to use the mine drop to try deterring the incoming tripods
- Didn't use engineers to capture the tripod husks after killing them
-Please max out your mouse scroll speed in options. I was watching in through-the-eyes and it got me nuts! Or are you using arrow keys scroll? J/k I'm not taking points out of this - but do it anyways
#BoTz/Pilbots# Pilbots/BoTz is extremely micro-gifted as we all know, and goes moderate turtling mode, in which Scrin excels. Solid defense, good comeback.
+ Great usage of devourers to kite the scorpions, taking advantage of their high range
+ Good use of stasis shield to paralyze the scorpion mass whenever heavily outnumbered
- Didn't focus fire to kill the tripod husks
