This is a great game I had with Netput earlier today, probably my personal best game so far. I really don't want to say too much about it, it was a close game lasting over 20 minutes, and a good variety of units get used to great effect in addition to the typical Pitbulls and Scorpians.

A review for this would be really great.

REPLAY REVIEW BY #ZERO# - #DATE (06/07/07)
---------------------------------

Match Overview
Netput vs. Kered13 GDI vs Nod on TA. GDI attempts fast orcas with an expansion however nod intercepts his plan with a quick 3 shadow team rush taking all tiberum spikes and destroying Kereds early rpg advance. This gave nod a head starts in getting a army out faster with a strong economy. GDI returns however with a good economy and a good tech up after dealing with some hard battles with great use of units on both sides including emp buggies and a elite harvester. Mammoth tanks and predators begin to roll out and vertigos from Nod in the final five mins of the game bringing more action to the field however at the final stand off nod pulls out the upper hand and takes the win.

Game length: 22min 31 seconds.

-Netput (GDI)
Unlucky start for you encountering serious amounts of problems. However you handled it well with your support powers getting you slightly more on track. At this point you played really well with your pitbulls and micro whilst teching up. Great placement of SE’s against the scorps. It was amazing seeing an elite harvester by owning loads of rpg infantry! A bit slow on the zone trooper drops later on which cost you quite a bit, but you kept on going which was good to see included with use of other support powers. Nice use of predators and mammoths for a short while although micro began to lack until the very end at the last moments when you decided to keep the fight going which made you take the loss.
    Tips for improvement
  • Use your zone trooper drops more effectively. Its understandable that with microing your pitbulls etc you lost track of your zone drops. However this is a awful mistake to encounter. Spending 4.5k on something which could cause so much damage and then forgetting about them is a bad move. When you finally did manage to attack a structure you left them going – they destroy structures fast, you could have taken out a tech center and much more structures with them. Perhaps even winning the game as of them.
  • Only fight a battle you know you can win! The last battle was your main mistake losing your mammoths and predators and pitbulls to the mass of scorps. If your losing pull back, theres no loss in it and you keep units.
  • Get more infantry mixed into your army. RPG’s caused great damage to you, so put yours into action which would have helped you enormously against the scorps.
Kered13* (Nod)
Exclent and aggressive BO giving you a good start taking both tiberum fields. Followed up by some great use of emp buggies! Scorp micro lacked at points but you did well with your rpgs. You maintained pressure with good use of support powers and against the zone troopers reacting well to them. Floating high which could have been handled though, you kept a good unit flow maintaining game play and dealing very well with mammoths and taking SE’s out with vertigoes, also you used your stealth flame tanks very nicely and with the final battle with the amount of Scorps you took the win.
    Tips for Improvement
  • Micro lacked mainly early game losing you quite a lot of scorps which could be used better in later game play. Don’t get backed into a corner, just keep moving down the map out of range of the SE’s. The pitbulls are a problem yes but best get some out rather than none.
  • Floating was high for you almost through out the game entirely. Instead of running out of your production cue press shift and click giving you 5 units per a click so you don’t have to keep going back to it. Included with getting more infantry out and another wf build cue to lower your float and giving you a higher advantage.
Over all a very exciting game with great game play and good BO’s with good come back. Units being used fairly well, support powers, unit mix, harassment, loads of countering. All the components that make a great replay, with not that many mistakes neither. Very GG. Especially the harvester.

OMG great game drol.gif Just wish I had the time to review it post-13661-1143531603.gif Basically it's an awesome strat of STs -> rockets + scorpion pressure -> fast emp buggies + scorpions to counter the pitspam bs. Great use of powers too, quite a pity you missed that bomb on the top left engagement, it'd be memorable if it hit happy.gif You had your micro mistakes, but your macro and strategical awareness were top notch, while Nettie paid for sticking for too long with pits only and never mixing rocket infantry in when you mostly built tanks. Vgg, congratz smile.gif

kered13 - great game, it's a school-example of an st-rush - except you missed the outpost post-13661-1143531603.gif Also, sorry to say, but your microing of tanks really suck post-13661-1143531603.gif - about half your army never fire their guns because they're behind the rest of the tanks, struggling to get to the front. You really should align them more in a straight line, rather than in a big crowded circle. Another thing is the use of mine-drops - you didn't build an "airfield" until really late in the game, though you were floating above 5k most of the game. More aggressive use of mines would've helped you immensely in getting rid of the mass-pitbulls. But still, great game!

Quite the contrary, mines suck against Pitbulls. They detect stealth so they'll just shoot the mines before running over them. Sure you could try to drop them directly on the Pitbulls, but with a unit as fast as Pits that would be no easy feat. I only used the mines late game because he had switched to Mammoths and had few Pitbulls left. Had he continued to spam pitbulls, I would never have used mines at all.

With the stealth teams I was busy killing Netput's missile squads by my expansion and lost critical time, it was very close but Netput was able to exploit the bug to place a refinery (it was funny, he said something like "Thank god for that bug", but I don't think those were the words). I also tried to keep my Scorpians close with as many guns up front as possible (except when trying to slip past SEs, when I intenitonally let them form a thin column), but didn't have much luck with that, its something I need to work on. But I made up for those mistakes with my unit mixing, especially the EMP buggys which did a lot of damage.

So can anyone review this for me?

agreed with the minedrop being quite useless against pitbull spam.
You can use them to weaken the miners tho, just before you drop in that OPed thingy.

haha and yeh, i said something about being happy with that bug at that moment tongue.gif
your up for a rematch tonight?
