REPLAY REVIEW BY ITHILDUR - 29 MAR 2007
---------------------------------

Overview
A fairly slow game, with both players not being very aggressive until they had many, many tanks. WarEagle had a weak a slow start up where -Netput had a quick one to jump-start his economy. When that happened, he just got his 3-4 War Factories and pumped out Predator after Predator and not even the fast tech to Orcas could stop him.

War Eagle
You really had a slow Crane start up, but you did send your Surveyor to a good location. It still wasn't enough though to start the game right and that's what destroyed you. You also went for fast Orcas rather than multiple War Factories which are critical when the enemy has 3-4 of them.
    Tips for improvement
  • Get more War Factories and pump out those Predators. Wait a little longer to get Orcas and go for Railguns sooner
  • Try stretching to those tiberium fields, instead of using a Surveyor. It'll save you money and a little bit of time.
  • Don't get a barracks or grenadiers, which aren't that great against mass Predators.
-Netput
Great start, using the stretch method that is always good on this map. You also got multiple War Factories and attacked him first, giving you the edge since he was on the defensive. What really won you the game was your quick economy start that allowed you to produce Predators rapidly while teching to Railguns and Mammoths.
    Tips for Improvement
  • Experiment with getting some air support somewhere in your build order. It'll help you by giving you another direction to attack from which most players have to deviate from their BOs to counter.

Thanks for the review smile.gif, like most of the tips.

But stretching to the fields? I don't think that's smart, that takes a while and is hard to defend.

Stretching is a bad idea if you're intentionally going out of your way to do it. However if you can work it into your normal build order it works just fine.

That's an example of how I actually base crawl to the expansion field. I don't go out of my way to do it, which is why it works.

Netput didn't really either. He also played offensively which made defense not matter as much. The fact is that Netput's BO worked and War Eagle's Crane+Surveyor strat didn't. But yes, you are right, not going out of your way to do it is better.

Refinery before power. You did a good job expading and getting two fields. Try to get a wf faster. plus more harvesters.

Yeah, but I prefer a Crane BO. I can get a lot more working faster.
