REPLAY REVIEW BY Species8472 - 29 MAR 2007 01:14
---------------------------------

Overview
This match was definitely the first one for both, both players massed units and waited too long to attack, no tactical movements at all in this replay, which is very unfortunate.
Both players could have taken the neutral buildings on this map which could have been a good advantage. The expansion building right on the middle of the map near the tiberium fields is one of them.

You build a bit too close, building an expansion for the blue tiberium is not necessary since you could easily used base crawl to put a extractor there. You didn't attack at all in this game with the exception of the fear of a nuke in your base, but attacking as a last resort is never good and this was your downfall. You had enough time given to build a lot of units but you were just sitting in your base and holding your base tiberium fields. You could have expand to the green tiberium field on the side. No exploring at all, that would be really helpful to see where the enemies base is undefended.
    Tips for improvement
  • Use base crawl to extend your base, having a base on larger space also prevents the enemy from attacking you.
  • Expand to tiberium fields in the mid east of the map.
  • Build devourers, I dont think I have seen any devourer in this match.
  • Attack or else you will not win.

Overall played passively but far more active than your opponent. Starting with a refinery is not good since you cannot do anything while it is building, start with crane or barracks, so that you can take the map with engineers or other infantry for example. Better take a close look at the neutral buildings all over the map. You build your expansion very close to the more tactical expansion building which only costs a saboteur. Shadow squad worked pretty well but you didn't use it well, as you may have seen it was really hard to kill them, so building more early game would have given you an advantage, this was also a bit more tactical move. You could have killed some harvesters since he just camped in his base, thats what tactical is all about. Go explore and see what you can attack.
You have used the Nod pretty well on the tech side and deliberately choose for not making avatars which would be good since your first massive attack miserably failed. Unit counters were chosen well, but in the end your air was the real advantage. The Nuke that you have built also won the game because Maximus had to attack you while you were waiting and keeping pressure on him. Beam cannons worked very well. Together with flame tanks, scorpions, avatars and air you could have won from the teched scrin in a balanced and masssive attack.
    Tips for improvement
  • Air was the key for this game.
  • Your base crawling could be better
  • Explore and attack what you can attack instead for just waiting for a full head to head attack.
